My car is also running too cold. Last night after 40 minutes of driving the damn thing was at 158 degrees!!! My IAT2 during the day is only 10-15 degrees higher than ambient, and it never heat soaks. Its like an ice box or something!!!

That's odd that your coolant isn't hitting open loop...I mean, there's so little flow at closed loop, there should be no way to keep it that cool with the stat closed. You sure yours isn't stuck open, or that you didn't install a 160* stat while your car was down?

I'm wondering if the stat is stuck open...that would also explain the Suburban-like gas mileage.

Or that his stat is closed and he's reading the temps of ambient coolant while his block heats up.

Sensor is in the top of the head, so it would show the heat anyway. Sounds like a 160 stat or it got left out.

How's it feel to have her running again? Does it bring a big smile to your face every time you start it up? I know after mine being down for 2 months... I felt amazing.

Oh... and center that Exhaust tip!

How long did the paint on your S/C need to dry? And what exactly did you use?

This one?

Did you clear coat?

Krylon wrinkle finish black. We painted in the winter so it took over a week to fully dry. No I did not use clear coat.

Okay... same stuff I just painted it with.

I got heat lamps on mine... so hopefully it'll be done in a few hours. I painted it 4 hours ago.

Give it time, some spots will stay gummy for days.

Haha... that's what I kinda figured. I'm about to go to sleep... so it'll get until 2 or 3pm to keep drying... then I HAVE to put it back on the car.

Damn that person that told me 3 hours to dry would be fine.

Cam, I'm glad to see you are finally up and running. You beat both of my cars back to the road.

He'll probably beat both your cars back off the road, too.

Sorry Cam, I had to.
