Swapping my LAP for an LE5

Swapping my engine for a le5. I have the full le5 intake setup as well as an lsj exhuast and tune now. Should I be expecting a notable increase in performance when I have this in and tuned? Got the engine for 349 plus tax with 50k and a brand new gm flywheel/pp/disc for 240 plus tax so I couldnt justify not doing the swap. Before its said this is a direct plug and play engine for me since im already vvt. any input from others who have swapped let me know what you think.

I haven't swapped but I wouldn't imagine it would be a huge difference. I have a 2.4l that's fully bolted and tuned but I don't consider it anything special. Those 2.2's are by no means quick and neither is the 2.4. I would say you might notice a little more "pep" and low end power but nothing like going f/i or something like that.

This gives me an idea of possibly saving quite a bit and switching to the 06 LE5 with the better internals, double the HP from my current and a bit stronger seems pretty nice right now for quite cheap.

have very few people done a swap? Its rediculously easy to drop the whole cradle with engine and trans on it. Im hoping to have it complety done in 5 hours including an alignment...just one the the perks of working at a gm dealer I guess.

That's promising, what year is the engine you are using?

I used an 09 just from what I've seen come In shop with issues. I don't need the forged internal of older ones. I ended up swapping the lap intake cam in the le5 for my best results. I'm currently running my trifecta 2.2 tune while holding normal afrs and fuel trims on spot gonna do some data logging for further results .

I will be tuning with HP tuners I have a friend that is really good with hp. we had my 2.2 with cai full exhaust 50 shot and tune. 237whp when it let go finally. I am really just looking for more without the nitrous. I am also going to be putting everything on my 2.4 from my 2.2 I am also upgrading motor mounts and axles asap.

i know this thread is old, but ill post anyways.

my shop has a few hhrs. got one with a siezed engine due to broken oil pan. it was a 2011 lap 2.2l. i dropped the entire cradle with engine, trans, wiring harness, ecm and tcm and swapped it all out with a 2.2l l61 from a 2008 hhr. plugged it all in, did a security relearn and it was good to go. best part is it took 4 hours
