Doing some painting this weekend advice and tips wanted.

So Im going to be painting my bowties this weekend. Front one sure seems simple enough.
But about that rear one Im still up in the air to just shave it or paint it. If I paint it seen some ppl do it on thier car and some dont. I planned on shaving it and painting it while i do the front one just so I can see the shaved look and if i dont like it I can just put it back. Thing is once its removed can I reapply it easily or do should I just buy a new emblem and paint that one?

Also as painting goes should I just tape off the chrome strips and paint the gold or paint the whole bowtie? Im worried about gap marks in the paint on the bowtie from the chrome to gold part.

Any tips since I am a novice painter would be helpful.

Any color look good specificly looking for a gloss plack I think that would good on a silver car.

My supplies include 200 grit sandpaper , duplicolor gloss black for gm vehicles, painting tape
adhesive cleaner, and fishing line and hairdryer for debadging ...... anything else sound needed?

the rear bowtie is kinda tricky to get off but i suggest using some thin fishing line so u dont scratch the paint... as for the chrome part, i think it looks better if u dont paint over it.. and make sure if u use enamel paint, use enamel clear... lacquer paint, lacquer clear
