I have managed a paint and body shop for almost 6 years now. Yes it will stick initially, but all it takes is one little chip and it will start flaking off. Automotive clear coat is not designed to adhere to any bare metal.

 

Well any paint that chips on wheels can cause flaking that is why so many have taken there stockers back to get repaired .
these wheels came with a full lip that was polished and clear coated it stayed on for 55,000 miles. In fact I think most polished aluminum come clear coated .it is a soft metal and if you didnt if would scratch every time you touched it

love your hood by the way . I like seeing people modding the metal rather the putting a plastic hood on.

 

I like the way you painted the aftermarket. If you still have them come mid august like I said I will probably take them. How much do the weigh per wheel??
