Official Plasti Dip Thread?
I'm new to the Plasti Dip world. Seen lots use it but never tried it. Well I needed to do something with my valve cover do I decided now was a good time! Did 3 coats of black then 3 light coats of their copper metalizer to make a dark bronze. I'm super impressed how smooth it does down! I have some PF01 wheels on there way that I plan to do the same with

Ya that was my concern before doing it lol. Couldn't really find a straight answer if it would melt other than plasti dip saying it's been tested to over 200 F so I said screw and let it ride lol.
The guy I bought the plasti dip from (gets it cheaper than what us Canadians get raped for it at the store) said he has an exhaust shield plasti dipped on his car and it's still holding strong lol.
Its like 315F melting point or something.
But yes I just made a order of their new micro flakes. Well a sample bag at least. I want to test out how it makes actually plastidip change in color and not just glossifier

I was going to ask where you got it from lol. Does he bring it across the border?
From what he told me is he gets it from someone in Calgary. I would assume they get it out of the states in large quantities because even this guy I got it from had crazy amounts and pretty much anything you needed. I couldn't find copper metalizer anywhere in stores. Just gold and silver. He had like 10 cans of it haha.
I managed to get a better pic of my valve cover that I edited in my previous post. Just didn't see anyone in this thread play with the copper metalizer so I figure a good pic would be nice if anyone also wants the same color.
Wait... I didn't know Plasti Dip could hold it's own under heat...
This opens up a whole new world of possibilities.
Also going to be dipping my car this Spring (or sooner). Pics to come.

Even a touchless wash is going to do more harm than good.
Best way to clean dip is with the DYC dip washer and a little elbow grease.
If you're just trying to clean wheels look into a product called Brake Dust Professional.
You spray it only your wheels, let it sit for 10 minutes and then hose it off.
Everything comes off and they look brand new.

Fooling around with some new dip colors. Still can't decide what color to go with come spring haha
All these pigment colors were mixed into the standard matte clear plastidip and were sprayed over black base coats.
Obviously there's going to be some differences between what my eye can see and what my camera can see, but you'll get the idea.

Iguana Green

Seafoam

Tangerine Orange

Radiant Red & Black mix

I'm torn between doing the dark sage, dark radiant red, or trying a dark version of the tein. Too many options haha
Id love to see a pic of the valve cover installed.
