For my dipped wheels, I go to the local self-wash place, put in a couple of bucks, and spray some pre-soak on the wheels (can't remember if it's bright green or purple or some other crazy color...) either way, it eats away brake dust as the stuff is hitting it without damaging the plasti dip. Right after that I pull it through an automatic touchless high pressure car wash - done! Dip is as fresh as the day I put it on the wheels.

Whats the best technique for cars with spoilers that wont come off...this one was glued on and i couldnt take it off with out breaking it.

i really need to remind myself to be more patient when pulling the tape off and that i have a little more time then i think before it drys to the tape.

i also noticed that its still pretty textured, i wash the gun after ever coat and i make sure i stay 6-8 inch away at all times.

but here ya go,

You can't see the flaws but in the hood there definitely is some see thru.

Over all it came out pretty good. I ordered 1 more gallon tho.

Great advise for the spoiler!

I just tried it out for the first time today. I decided to do something adventurous. My work here is by no means perfect, but I think it came out alright! I had to take pictures at night because I couldn't get everything back on until it was dark. Also, my car is a little dirty. I'll get some clean pics soon.

Personally evo mod belongs on all cobalts, but black.

Garage door/ez lip mod belongs on all black cobalts and no coloured ones.

That is just my opinion tho.

But to each his own man, Daylight pics might do better justice tho.

The hood was mostly a cheap and fast fix for a huge scratch from a loose shingle that fell on the hood during a bad thunderstorm. The scratch was tormenting me every time I looked at lol.

I'll be the first to admit that all the red makes the car look pretty....loud. A few of my buddies that saw it in the light yesterday said it looked a lot better in person. I just didn't want to do black rims (which everyone was telling me to do) because I wanted to do something weird. It's removable, so whenever I feel like I'm done annoying people with my bright ass red rims, I'll probably go on to something else .

Maybe this is a dumb question but...Is there a certain way I should clean the Plastidip? And on the rare occasion when I'm too lazy/don't have enough time/get a car wash gift card, can I take it to a car wash?
Also, my hood is kind of fuzzy. I Googled this and found out I sprayed it from too far away. I don't really mind the fuzzy look, but is it going to come off the first time I spray it with water?

Best way to clean it from my experience is with a rag from DYC called the dip washer.
Other than that, a car wash shouldn't hurt it any. There's just always a risk of it peeling when you're not the one in control.

Yes, there's a way that dipyourcar.com recommends, but I've taken mine through a car wash numerous times while fully dipped and the carwash never damaged it.

If the dip starts peeling, you probably didn't clean it well enough so it separated itself from the surface below it.

Anybody ever done their lug nuts? I'm going to be painting the brembos gold and I sort of want to do the lug nuts gold as well. Can you put them back on without stripping the dip off?

ive seen in autozone some lugs that seem to be made of some plastic or close to that to take the ones that are actually painted with out taking the paint off maybe those would help, just cant remember the name atm.

But just plasti-dipping my current lug nuts would be no good? Shame to buy new ones when these are nearly brand new.
