You can buy the dyc spray system or you can get a big compressor and a decent spray gun. I have used both. I used an anest iwata pressure fed gun with a 2 gallon pot setup to do my trim and it came out great. Problem was that i didnt have a big enough compressor to do the whole car so it was constantly refilling as i worked around and my finish looked like ass. Bought the dyc system and it works very well. I would recommend it if you dont already have a big (60gal) compressor and nice gun.

Gotcha. Now the dyc has the kit for $156 i get that it's probably a small compressor or turbine (which im not even really sure how comparable those are to compressors). But would that be big enough you think to do a car if I wanted to ? Or definitely way to small.

Not sure if they are doing something different now but last year, the dyc spray system was what they used on every car they dipped. I used it and it worked perfectly. Its the alternative if you dont already own a big compressor and gun.

Plastidip on door panel

Just what the title says. Is it safe to use plastidip on the "leather" part on the door? I'm not great at spray paint so I wanted to use plastidip. That and I can always go back to gray.

Im not actually sure if it would be safe to use. I don't see why not. But maybe someone else on here with more knowledge can chime in. Also, not sure if you have already, watch some videos online about how to apply plastidip. Really does wonders if you want it to turn out good.

Never tried it on panel so not sure.

The dyc sprayer is definitely a great starting gun. You can do whole cars with it easily. Well...it's time to post my dirty car that's still in progress lol.

Here's mine so far. Not done the hood is real dirty obviously lol has a few months of dust on it. Wheels are dirty as well but...almost done with it. Going to be switching from purple to a different color because there's way too many cobalts with purple wheels right now.

Purple blaze test outcome.

5 coats of purple were applied to each template. 4 coats light. Last coat heavy.

This here is the black base with purple blaze over top, (in person it does look a little darker than the picture) .

This here is the white base with blaze purple over. Again it is slightly darker in person.

A closer look at the blaze purple black base.

Closer look at blaze purple white base.

Sorta. It's plastidip base, dip pearl topcoat mixed with pearls for color, and then poseidon from cerberus for gloss.

That purple is looking pretty pink to me?

Ahh. Still, very nice. (: and yes the white base looks very pink. The black base is very dark almost like a plum purple. I didn't post pictures of it, but spraying it on just a piece of chrome/steel surface yields the best purple color in my opinion. On dyc it says they all need white bases. However Id be pretty mad if I were going for purple and magenta is what I got. Lol
