With the exchange rate even these are going to cost me close to $100CAD before bulbs. Has anyone used them? They seem like the same sort of projector ddm or anyone else that isn't trs sells. Would certainly get me by until I can eventually build the kind of set I want.

Input guys? Remembering that the mini 7.0 is well out of my price range.
It is worth going TRS/Morimoto for sure due to warranty and quality/ light output. For mounting purposes i am all for the D2S projector. Its a big 3" one and works great. They do have a closeout section on their website with 'b-stock' stuff if you are on a budget which i totally understand. They have small scratches and stuff that many are comfortable just dealing with. Im working with a canadian guy right now who has paid like 1300 bucks CAD for 800 USD lmao.

I'd definitely be getting you to build me a set if the dollar wasn't so bad. But at those exchange rates I just can't justify it.

Thanks! I cut slits in the bezel and jb welded them in place lol. I got 140mm halos from TRS' closeouts.

I got the inspiration from this guy. The one halfway down the page with the double halos

Projectors and shrouds are off a 2012 Cadillac SRX which the projectors are 99% identical to G37 sedans and a PITA to tune!

Like that kinda before/after? Sorry the pics are so freaking huge.

This is after I cut the slots out for the halos before I painted them gunmetal.

Retros are easy to build. Just do some slight "how to" reading and dive in.

I dont disagree the TRS stuff is much better, however id rather have SOME lighting upgrades over my 3rd gen projectors which quite honestly suck. I didnt really hate the DDM V2 projectors but your right, It would be nice to get some better lights.

I found a guy on ebay selling a set of Hella E55 (Maxima) Projectors for $85CAD Shipped, have you used them before? Theyve gotta be better than the generic/china/standard MH1 Projectors.

If they're genuine Hella E55s they'll be decent. Do they have clear lenses? But be warned the E55 is a larger projector and not a quick retrofit like the D2S.

Check out TRS's forum, some members sell used stuff for a good price

04 08 Nissan Maxima HID Bi Xenon Projector E55 D2S Hella Pair Set | eBay

They are maxima projectors i would assume genuine hella. Im not worried so much about the work as i am the cost. Being a poor college student who likes to be able to see where hes going sucks some times

I suppose I could always give them the ol college try. Everything is still too expensive after conversion to order now though haha.

Took my headlights out last night to do some tweaking so I took a picture of how I sealed up the back of mine.

I got a bunch of housings from 09-12 Acadia's and found out the bulb caps and the part they twist onto fits right into the cobalt housings after some minor filing. Hit it with some JB Plastic Bonder and it works beautifully! It's ugly as hell I know but it was getting late when I was finishing up and I needed the car the next morning lol

Well I'm gonna show off Snail_ss's lights a bit before he gets the chance to

These are pretty cool. Mainly because I love the idea of a white balt with black headlights and white accents in them haha.

These have actually a combination of two different shroud styles, both of which have been modded extensively to mend with eachother and create the popular evil eye and take it to a new level. - E55R shrouds have had 3/4 of the outer area cut out, and then I trimmed and affixed the clear portions of panamera shrouds to the back of them... Usually the 'evil eye' look is achieved via a single 80mm halo on the front of the shroud; these however have both 110mm AND 120mm's behind the clear part!

He also went all out like the straight up g that he is and opted for the turn signal bowl led strips and led signals as well... all of this is switcback of course lol

add some glossy black housings paired with smoked lenses and blue demon eyes and we got ourselves a killer as set on our hands.

Another cool thing about these is the white sidemarkers, which pretty much GLOW when everythings white but also turn amber when the signals are on lol
