So the TYC headlights are very brittle on the reflectors and a pain to get off their ball and socket joints. Looks like I will be fixing these with JB Weld and snap them into my OE headlights and run halogens while I use the OE reflectors to attach my EvoX-Rs to and snap them into my TYC headlights. I thought of using my Mini H1s on the TYC reflectors, but what's the point if I'm just gonna be taking them out again?

learned that the hardway too on my first retrofit. second time around i heated up those joints with the heat gun and softened them up enough to safely remove em.

Yeah, when I did my Mini H1s with my OEM headlights, they slipped off like butter. I have a heat gun, but somebody's borrowing it and never returned it. That last one is extremely hard. I'll also learn not to pull on the entire reflector. Instead, stick something underneath the black socket and pry it off the ball. One thing to note, the TYC headlights don't have any tint on them at all where as the OEM lights do. Kinda dumb to have any tint on the headlights. At least my EvoX-Rs will be shining at full potential while my Mini H1s have been compromised by a slight tint.

when you re-seat the lens back on the headlight after your retro project, do u have to do anything special to the high beam solenoid and /or halo wires when you put it in the oven to soften the glue? i dont want the melt those wires or anything..

Mike, I think painted shields looks so much cleaner than demon eyes. I might do that to mine, tear em down and paint the shields red, looks great.

The bi-xenon wires will be fine in the oven. I usually stuff them inside before throwing them in the oven.
