Im actually preparing for them to offer me something crazy like 9-10k for it. Im also wondering how the deal with aftermarket parts, and even options on the car etc.. I paid 2400+tax for G85, wondering if they'll take that **** into consideration. I cant find any for sale with G85 to show MPI either.

There are a couple threads on this;
they are actually as different as the same car could be.

I know that stock to stock the TC is about a second quicker in the quarter mile;
and although not drastically differnt, there is a difference in handling...
Many former SC/Recaro owners prefer the Recaro over the GM Performance Division buckets ~ but in nearly the same breath mention that the TC seats will support your lower back better than the Recaro (so road trips are more manageable).

From what I understand the SC, although about 30whp lower in power has a degree of unrefinement that a musclecar guy like myself likes...
The TC's have to ether be in 'COMPETITION MODE' or 'ESC OFF' to drive without the granny's making the car drive like a boring commuter - but who's to say that this isn't a good thing?

You guys know anywhere good/cheap or a way to shove that 2007+ radio in my my car or how to get aux input for relatively cheap?
I asked about swapping to the 07+ radio a while ago and was told it can't be done

I was pretty sure I saw an active thread last year in which this was covered, and functionality was restored... but this evening, this is all I could find;

Driving a stock ss/sc compared to a ss/tc is a world of difference. No offense t o the SS/SC guys but the TC seems more ...refined? compared to the SS/SC.

Like Soundjunky mentioned. Its so much more then just 30 whp.

Well i would love to put an 07 radio in my car. Mine acts up sometimes and the screen goes all screwy. Oh hands down, no question the TC is way more refined. When I wear my SC out I probably gonna pick up a TC. These cars are great dd's IMO

They really are, as far as the motors go, they are bullet proof. The rest of the stuff (fit and finish) is sub par

But what do you expect for a 30,000 dollar MSRP Sport compact car making above 200 WHP.

Put it this way. for the trans anyway the GMPP upgrade parts for the SC are from the TC ie: clutch, prssure plate TOB, shifter braket etc.. So motorwise it is better but I agree with Projekt the trim and finish suckass always has for chevy.

If you have anything aftermarket on it, take it off. They won't pay you **** for any of it. All they require is you have the stock stuff to replace it. When I wrote off my Cavi I had lots of aftermarket stuff on it. I just went to Plessis where my car was and stripped it. Threw all the stock stuff in the back seat. They will pay for for the G85 package, just make sure you mention it.

Ok thanks for the responses guys. I did kinda like the fact the SC was a little unrefined, most days anyways. Im looking at a TC in sask right now(and have been talking to the guy all day), it almost seems as though the price is to good to be true. 14.5 for an 09 TC (with 44k) is quite cheap isnt it?

oh really?? I had no idea you could take parts off too.. I thought it was only rims. So I can take my injectors etc. out if they're replaced with stock? You didnt even have to put parts back on, they can just be left in back seat or trunk?

Thanks a lot man! Had a bit of a headache but other then that was virtually unhurt. Ill def let you know when I get everything sorted out. I may end up losing a set of the winter rims/tires when I go get my aftermarkets back, but Ill know for sure when this **** is all settled.

Yeah there's like 1 guy documented in history and he knows his stuff way more than I do. It seems like such a small thing to add (aux) but such a hefty price to pay for it. The radio transmitter's have the shittiest quality.

So I installed the ZZP upgraded shifter bracket for the LSJ last night. Turns out its the shifter bracket from the TC (go figure) anyways my shifting does feel more solid, precise. Not a bad mod for $30 bucks and 30 minutes.

Hey are we doing a dyno day or what?

Ya I didn't have receipts for a lot of my aftermarket stuff so they said as long as you have the stock stuff you can swap it out. They make you put a list together on things you want and you go and swap em out. I didn't put any of the stock stuff back on I just threw it in the back seat. Tore off my CAI and just left the stock airbox in the back seat. Wide open throttlebody in the middle of winter with a hood that didn't close. Oops lol

Ok good ****. I was under the impression it could only be done for rims. Not sure how much is even really worth taking off though, dont think Ill even bother with the injectors etc., Id like to take off the exhaust but not sure that will be possible as the stock one is cut in half.. Think they'll mind if I just attach the cut part of the exhaust pipe with a rubber coupler?

BTW looks like I will actually be driving down to Sask on Monday or Tuesday to pick myself up an 09 SS/TC (provided everything checks out with the car).

I would take the rims if u have the stock ones to put on. As for the exhaust ya that would be a pain to change haha. Anything aftermarket you leave on your car, if you have a reciept for it give it to them

ya rims are def coming off! I talked to my buddy that works at the MPI compound and he said I can replace them with a set of winter tires/rims, you can put any 4 rims/tires on that fit, as long as its not 4 donuts. I plan on giving all receipts to them but am fully expecting to maybe get 5-10% of what they're worth. Might just take a few things like rotor's etc. off and give them away.

Ya when I wrote my car off I had my steelies winter tires on too. By time I finished arguing with a settlement, sold my summer rims and all the other stuff I had on it I actually made a pretty decient buck. Way more than if I sold it private.

Yea that seems to be nice and clean, super low Km's too. That may be a backup plan if the other one falls thru. The other one has 44Km's, LSD sunroof etc. for 14.5. Seems crazy cheap to me?? I guess looking now and comparing to the 10 with 11Km's it doesnt sound too good to be true like it first did. Im thinkin 14.5 may be a good price but is in no way a 'steal'. What do u guys think?
