Mind you I think i was heavy with cargo.... But still he pulled pretty good.
I was still in 2nd gear about 5-6000rpm when he switched to 3rd.

I can't wait till we get a header and DP.

Will do it again!
Keep in mind that the manual transmission changes alot* ~ and he's already got a downpipe...

I have a friend who owned first a Cobalt SS 2.4/5spd, then a Cobalt SS 2.4/auto;
he said the automatic made the car feel totally gutless ~ said it took all the fun out of the car for him.

here's one of his videos he posted - it's of his personal best;

2.4L Cobalt SS - YouTube

as a comparison, here's two more locals (only one of these guys still has his car);
both have exhaust & intake;
the SS is like yours a 2.4/auto - the 'base' is a 2.2L/5spd;

2.2 Chevrolet Cobalt VS 2.4L Cobalt - YouTube

if you notice the 5 speed cars crappy launch is almost made up mid track - all because of gearing...
(if you noticed the 2nd video was also recorded & put up by the same guy who used to own the 2.4 car from teh first video)

@ Steve or anyone else reading who can help out;

Wasn't Steve's best (15.9 iirc) posted on youtube?

if it is - can I get a link so that I can "favorite" it?

...and am I the only person surprised to see snow this morning?
(literally - I had no idea about it in the forecast, nor did I hear anything about it on the radio when I was waking up)

Are car break-ins a problem in Calgary? I'm going to SAIT in the fall and really want to bring my cobalt (base), because I live in Rocky Mountain House and need transportation haha. But if someone is going to break into my car and steal my audio equipment, Id rather not take it with me.

Cheers,
Mike

if u are concerned, purchase an alarm.
also do NOT leave things visible inside, inviting somone to break in.
Not like Calgary is COMPTON or anything lol

Calgary Police Service Web Mapping Application
narrow ur search to the area and type of crime, it will list all reported crimes

Typically, no. Just don't make your car an easy target.

ie. Don't leave anything expensive in plain sight, lock the doors, etc.

Are you planning on living in res? I'm going to SAIT right now and I'm renting in a house in the NW, so I keep my car parked inside a garage and take tansit. We're actually looking for more renters, PM me for more info.

there are supposed to be some locals who are versed in HPT - but I wouldn't know if there is a "go-to" guy who can help you out...

sorry.

I've ordered a wack of parts this week to fix my car. I'm planning on buying a house in the next week or so so im thinking I can't buy a new vehicle. But I'm unfortunately living in drayton valley these days which means I'm going to order trifecta so I can get updates without coming to Calgary.

And yes. Pulley down and meth is happening. I want mid 13's at the track this year.

The place I want to buy has a 24X24 ft garage. It's a proper size garage.

Do you mean you're looking to get a cable?

Just be aware that there are three types out there;
There is a red cable which is only for CAN-bus cars ~ the LSJ's can't use this cable;
There is a Tactrix cable,, but that too requires the car be CAN-bus ~ so it's no good for you;
The cable you would need is like mine, it's is a three part deal - there is a cable that goes from your on board diagnostic port to a black box, then the black box (duh), then a USB cable that goes from the black box to a laptop.

Just a "heads up"

if there is any confusion on getting updates you can orchastrate it through me so that Vince knows what's going on ~ and you don't accidentally get put to a lower importance level.

Also, Vince will be on holidays mid to late April, so no updates can be done during that time.

I contacted Vince last year and he said I would have to order the dealer package or whatever and just to let him know I originally originally ordered thru you.

or if you find the same cable as me for sale here, the updates or whatnot can still go through me ~ I'm not bothered by it one iota.

Then there's the Trifecta guy in Edmonton.
