... and I loath snow, it could stay away forever, and I'd be a happy boy.

I was looking at a .338 lapua takedown rifle but I don't think I need to hunt gophers from a half mile away and still hit them 2 feet underground lol.

I'll be getting a .308 one of these months. Need something with some kick

.300 ultra mag. Thing bucks like crazzzzzy.

I'll probably get a .22LR, 12g, and a 7mm-08 for my first guns. .22 to learn on and shoot gophers, 12g for birds and protection, 7mm for deer, elk and moose

What shotgun you getting? I'd assume a hunting one since you want to shoot birds with it. I got a remington 887 tac mag. Can take 2 3/4, 3 in and 3.5 inch shells. It's lighter than a 870 mariner special ad kicks more with the muzzle brake on but you can unload all 7 shells ad the barrel will be warm not hot

My brothers mariner has an open choke in the barrel. I'm pretty sure my 887 is at least a half choke. 870's are decent and cheap. Plus more accessories for them

The regular 870's are built with stamped steel parts. it makes them very cheap, but the action wont be smooth for very long. check out the remington 870 wingmaster. its the one the police uses, and it has machined internals = way better.

woke up this morn all seemed normal. by 10 oclock all hell broke loose in abbydale. some jack a$$ was randomly shooting cars on the streets throughout the neighbourhood. he was using a .22, and to be honest he shot the car that was parked 20ft from mine. now the cops have the street closed down and csi is on the scene. been like this since 10 am. guns should be outlawed period. i do realize that it is the person on the end of the trigger that is always at fault. however it is impossible to seperate the morons from the responsible individuals. it would be easier to get rid of the weapons then seperate the morons. realize this guys, the stray bullet hit the house across the road and one down from us and luckly no one was hurt. i use to regard this area i live in as a safe place. until today, i know now that no where is safe anymore. not to mention the cops shot a dog last week 4 doors down last week. i known the dog and was the most friendly, well behaved pit bull i met in a long time. it just goes to show you that the cops are morons too. i have no use for guns.

just because you have no use for guns does not mean they should be outlawed. guns don't kill people, stupid people with guns kill people. Making a generalization about outlawing guns is like saying that all car enthusiast's are honda rice driving idiots and therefore modifcations to cars should be outlawed.

if you want to go the same way that the states is trying to go then all the power to ya, but don't try and put me and all the decent and responsable gun owners out there in the same category as the maniac loser's that think it's just cool to have guns and show off to people.

Don't get me wrong mark, I see where you are coming from but i strongly disagree with your solution. There is no clear cut and paste solution that can be adhered to this topic for everyone to agree on. until such time that we will be forced under communist law to hand over all firearms and anything else that poses a threat to anyone ( Swords, Knives, baseball bats, baseballs, basically anything that can be a potential weapon. Which is damn near anything in a house that can harm someone) I will stand by my right to own a firearm or 12 as we live in a semi-free country where as everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Thank you ladies and gentlemen, Goodnight! lol

if you put a gun on a table outside, it will not kill people as they walk by. guns dont kill people, people kill people.

by outlawing guns, the responsible owners will be forced to hand their guns in, while criminals will still have them.

and from what i heard the cops were investigating something and the dog bit an officers hand. sad situation.

the day i buy my first rifle will be an awesome day.
