As far as the turbo manifold is concerned, you will achieve quicker spool with a log style manifold. Keeping the turbo as close to the exhaust source as possible will net you the quickest spool. Harnessing all the heat possible is going to greatly increase spool. Once the turbine is up to speed it is easy to maintain, it's just getting it there that's the hard part with larger turbo's
I agree there is some tune-ability in a equal length manifold but for most peoples over all goal and reliability they work best. I still run a log manifold on my car, FWIW.

Ryan is the absolute authority on this, but there's things like wrapping and ceramic coating that will help with keeping the heat inside a tubular manifold. But I agree, smaller volume = quicker spool.

Yes it's an import comparison but its the same principle

That's a tough comparison considering it's a completely different platform but I can see a tubular style making more power in the end indeed. BUT there's a reason why zzp doesn't build it and not many people run it... For the size of snail we run it won't out flow a log mani and has quicker spool on our motor from the research I've done.
To be honest I think Mark's car is great but I think my car is lacking. I want more top end and if I was to upgrade the turbo it would not compete with the M62 any longer so I am still thinking turbo But with that said I will be running the stock LNF manifold with a bolt on turbo option. I love custom work and I'm looking at doing my own intake manifold right now
