Calgary - random talk thread
well it's good to read that you should be having some cams Steve - that's news to me;
this was the key component that the 'L61' has had over the 'LE5'...
Really at the end for the day that's all my GA has - but what I use are a grind that Oldsmobile developed for my engine... so really even they aren't trick, since they're a grind that GM made, and has been around for roughly twenty years...
Running n/a is actually fun - you have alot more to overcome that guys with boosted motors, or guys who just run bigger motors don't have to deal with - which is mostly why I like running the GA;
that, and pretty much everyone underestimates it.

the SS/SC has upgraded suspension and transmission, that the LE5/5spd doesn't have;
but if having an auto is a biggie, I understand...
I just remembered about this;
Ecotec 2.2L Cavalier/Sunfire Supercharger Kit 17800003 - Crate Engine Depot

Considering that he Supercharger is the LSJ setup, and this is being sold for the L61, I would think that this would this pretty much be a bolt on deal for the LE5...

you know, I totally forgot that I teased you a bit too...

yup... then there's the stuff not mentioned;

Most people don't road race and haven't taken the FE3 to it's limit anyway, so you are only negligibly disadvantaged by not having the FE5; at the power levels an SC makes, you are not disadvantaged by having the F23, in fact you could argue it's an advantage cause you don't have to deal with the horribly short 1st and long 2nd in the F35. Just my take on it.
Am I only the person worried about someone driving a modified semi decent powered turbo car who doesn't have the coordination to drive a manual. I know I'm sounding a douche but it's probably best u learn how to handle your car since you'll probably be driving your modified car hard. Afterall y else would u want a more powerful car... Like she said she doesn't truly understand it which means she probably has a lot to learn about vehicle handling, control, behaviour and such... Same principal goes for people who just hop on a 600cc bike. Ive seen so many people do dumb **** cus they have a powerful toy and end up getting hurt cus they don't truly know how to handle it. just my 2 cents...

Not mention the F23 is possibly the easiest manual trans to drive on the planet. Lots of feedback through the clutch, it's as close to an automatic as a manual could be. There's no excuse, really.
i particularly like this excerpt from the FAQ
How can it be affordable if you are offering so many services? Won't this add to the cost for the users?
No, actually it is completely the opposite. For many years, road course facilities relied solely on rental revenue and event admission revenue. This is very limited, and the cost of renting these facilities has become extremely expensive in many areas across the continent. By adding services such as gas sales, parts sales, auto service, food services, child care, equipment storage, vehicle storage, individual garage sales, on-site accommodation, and multiple non-motorsports recreational facilities, it allows the venue to be not solely reliable on two limited revenue streams. And the revenue generated by services that would otherwise go to off-site and unrelated businesses has the benefit of making the venue viable and affordable to the users.

When is the projected opening date?
We are currently going through the process of having our Area Structure Plan for the development being instituted into a new Land Use Bylaw as a Direct Control District for the development site. It is difficult to accurately predict when this will be completed and accepted. However, potentially the project could be operational for the 2011 season
