I just had a little fender bender on the way home from a friend's place tonight just about an hour ago. I was turning onto east bound Anderson from woodpark blvd in the SE. By the time I realized how icy it was I was just about to brake for the turn. Normally I would have had plenty of time, but the sheet of ice I found myself on afforded me no grip at all. I slid into a RAV4 type of vehicle, nailing her passenger side door with my driver side corner of my front bumper. The momentum was enough to spin my car around and I then dented my rear driver side panel between my door and wheel well.

I'm not looking forward to the insurance issues... but I'm wondering what would be the expected cost of fixing my front bumper left headlight and that rear panel. Anyone care to take a guess? I could post pics once it's daylight.

I'm just a little pissed off at myself for not slowing down in a neighborhood I wasn't familiar with....

So just a word of advice as winter makes its last stand (hopefully) DRIVE SAFELY guys.

~$3500

When i was in gagetown with the balt, a women failed to yield and i hit her on the front left corner of my car. Cracked the bumper, headlight and stock heat exchanger. The bumper and heat exchanger came to $3000 to replace and they gave me a $500 cheque to buy new aftermarket headlights. That being said u dont need a new heat exchanger but u need a new or repaired rear panel..so i say around $3500.

ya chances are they are gonna repair the quarter panel rather then replace it, as there's alot of work involved in replacing it. but srt-10 has a pretty good ballpark

Google is failing to give me any results in finding what the panel would cost. What I have found is some random info that would support a price tag like 3500. The headlight doesn't concern me, I can easily go aftermarket. The bumper looks like crap but as long as it doesn't drop while I'm on deerfoot I'm alright too. The panel is an eye sore but I can worry about it down the road. Of course, my insurance will cover the bill, but I'm just exploring my options here and doing a little research.

Thanks guys

i almost had some guy rear end me last night coming to a stop at a set of lights. he was going too fast and i saw his car going all squirrely and side to side so i kept creeping up giving him more room to be able to stop.

repairable. the rear quarter will need to be popped out but shouldn't need replacing.

Man that hood would be nice, I'd love to do a partially painted CF hood on my car. Leave Cobalt SS or something along the frontish rightish side in CF or something along those lines. I just can't justify spending on cosmetic mods haha.

Sorry to hear about your car 7ustin, that sucks. Doesn't look bad though.

Next thing I'm upgrading are my seats, at least the front two. Unbelievable crap the 2.4 cloth seats are, I firmly hold onto the underside of my seat with my right hand like reins on a horse when making a turn.

Either that, or end up in the passenger footwell.

So basically I'm looking on eBay at cheap bucket seats. I'm gonna do some research and try to find some that aren't crap.

Hit the junk yards up and get the ss leather interior. Check car-parts.com or something to find something close. There are lots of wreckers around and there are quite a few totaled sc's in them. maybe ull find recaros

can you say diesel engine swap???

A little more progress in the engine.

Got the parts cleaned at work in the robowash. did a great job.

The underside of the head is still a mess. but when I get it planed that will all be gone.
