I was actually just referencing that your windows are always down. I remember freezing my butt off many times in your car this winter.

Freezing air is not. Maybe a quick shock to your lungs if you can't breath. Bout it

Yeah I have 35% in back and nothing on the front, in the sun you can't even tell there's any tint from some angles. Don't waste your time with it.

I have 25% and 5% on mine.

I really like it, at night at most angles you can't see in and at the back you generally just can't see in at all.

I can see fine out the sides at night, the back not so much but all I'd see is a spoiler anyways.

Tjay, thanks a ton for those links man. Looks like I have a lot of reading to do.

Joel

as to shop, man that's really your call - I'd ask around to see what shops have a good reputation, then get pricing for a clutch job from at least three shops so that you have a good idea as to whom is priced right...

for situations like this, you're really in the drivers seat, and if you allow yourself the time, you can get a good deal...

good luck!

So I'm curious (backtracking a bit to what was discussed yesterday);
What necesitates an "error" that would get a ticket thrown out?

I was heading home on Friday night from my brothers place in New Brighton, taking 52nd to 114th (as I always do) to meet up with Will, when I got pulled over...

I was pulled over on 52nd street just north of the old dump entrance;
unbeknownst to me the speed limit changed between 90th ave and 130th ave from 70kph to 60kph (the limit show on the NB lane that evening north of the 114th intersection still showed 70kph, but has since changed; I thought that some kind of notice or additional signage was required for changing the posted limit!??!?);
I was pulled over doing 70kph on the nut;
I was polite, and said something to the effect of "I could have sworn this area was 70 - am I mistaken?"
He said he saw me doing "over 80" from the lights, but that's complete BS (I was stopped for the red at 130th), I did give it a little gas from the light, but I was not speeding;
The ticket as he wrote it shows "80+" scratched out in the speed limit box, and he filled in the "clocked at" box above the recorded speed of "80+" (again, absolute BS, but what can you say in the circumstance? - if I said anything it would be disrespectful, and only make matters worse...

Can I get your thoughts/insights?

Anyone??

scratched out the incorrect speed limit;
but I don't know what denotes an "error" which might help the ticket get thrown out.

it's pretty bogus that they changed the limit without any notification or additional signage... it just changed...

if he scratched it out, then that's technically tampering with official documents in my eyes, also you can also take it as far as going and taking pictures of where you got pulled over showing that there was no change in speed limit sign at that point.

take it to the JOP and get them to look at it...

if it was "clocked at" he needs to write down the exact speed...

if you read the ticket, there is a little line, above the speed and stuff that says "anything under this line is not part of the ticket" or something along those lines, so if its incorrect, it doesnt matter.. its only the stuff above that line..

AS WELL, if not signage was posted, they cannot just CHANGE the speed limit to whatever he would like

Ask to see the radar gun when you get pulled over next time. If the cop says no then take that to court as well. I've had the + sign written on a few tickets but didn't really do anything about it because that was true. I'd go to court saying that 80+ isn't an exact speed and you were not doing 80. Have the pull your record or go get a drives abstract to prove that you don't speed. Just a thought

The signs on that section of 52nd (between 130th & 114th were changed on friday evening - but I drive that road ALL THE TIME, so with there being nothing to point out to locals that the speed limit was changed, I totally missed this...
I mean even if I was caught doing 80kph, that's technically within the 5-10kph margin where they often won't do anything about it... at least in respect to the limit in the days prior to my being pulled over.

By Sunday evening the signs between 114th & 90th ave were changed from 70kph to 60kph... but again, no notification that the limit changed... the signs were simply changed.

I even talked to one of the drivers for Jack Carter yesterday about this, and he didn't realize the speed limit wan't 70 there anymore...
I'm guessing that one of these days the stretch of 114th between 52nd and barlow will suddenly change from 70 to 60 as well (FYI: at the new/temporary intersection the limit is 50 there, but there is signage about the changed speed limit).

I don't know how the drivers abstract would work out;
I was tagged doing something like80 in a 50 in early 2009 (on 18th street right by my house);
then there's my recent legit one I got (unpaid at this time; purely a moment of lacking proper judgment on my part) on deerfoot south heading to okotoks...

the argument wont work that they didnt post a speed limit change as it was posted, if you try and use that argument they will throw it back at you as not paying attention. They are not required to post signs for speed limit changes. As for the other errors i think you could definatly get it written down to a no demerit ticket with a quick stop by the jp

It's a stock Cobalt SS clutch, I ended up putting in the GMPP one. Still have that clutch in my garage if anyone needs it though.

Also, I'm heading down to the border to grab some parts for a bit of a build for my car if anyone wants to get something ordered I can pick it up for them and bring it back to Leth. I'll be going between the 27th and the 6th.

Joel
