And I was the "witness" to the time your talking about, and yea you beat him.

However I was a witness to Graham beating Kris once on Barlow. It's not what I say it's what the slips say.

I never had the exhaust pull apart. But it took forever to get my zzp header dp to seal. Just unbolt it and replace the bolts with newer exhaust header bolts. Ones u can really torque the **** out of. 2 bolt flanges FTL.

Somebody should chime in since this is just a tought. But when going from a 3 bolt flange to a 2 bolt flange, am I right in thinking that u need to torque the new 2 bolt higher than the old 3 bolt flange. Or is it a pressure thing and it doesn't matter how many bolts there are holding it in place??? I'm not saying it should be a linear increase but there should be some sort of increase in torque needed on the bolts right to hold the **** together with the same amount of force

the 2 bolt flange is flawed to begin with on an exhaust system. it will warp no matter what you do but once it warps you can fill it with a gasket maker (i'm currently looking for the product i used) for another member which will seal it extremely well.

and thats fine i will be challenging your 2.4 time as the 2.0 is a differen't class and isn't even a comparison. if i had a turbo or supercharger that would be differen't

Anyone besides just us red deer guys having this problem?
Is there a way to fix this or am I stuck replacing my DP and Header?

Thanks for your ear guys…
iirc there is a service bulletin about hte LSJ headpipe;
if you're still within your powertrain warranty you can get it replaced for free...

Steve, you know better than this - I would have given you more credit than to post something like this, and to try to prove you're faster than those two cars because you eclipsed the 16.13 by a whopping 1/100th of a second...

Knowing what altitude & density altitude does on cars - expecially naturally aspirated cars, you just showed that your car is slower than some probably expect.

Also, I don't think a 2.4L car is in a "whole different class" from a (stock) LSJ car ~ but hte LSJ car does have a slight advantage...

regarding the repeated ugliness going on here, there is simply no excusing it;
it always takes two to fight - if one person is a jerk, and is ignored we can all move on, but of late some one says or does something stupid, and people here have to pounce...
IMHO it's complete BS - and it only takes away from the "community" that many of us would like to see in this group.

Actually jon I was running the same times Kris was basically stock, I also ran that 16.1 with just an intake and fully loaded. I merely posted that for ***** and giggles and to say I can. I also posted below it where it was for that reason is altitude does have a big role to play in an N/A car. An as I said to kris I will aim for those 2 times I listed from him and Graham and this may sound a little cocky but I will destroy those times

And dare I quote "any real racer knows it doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile" hahahahaha

was that you?

One of my other buddies ran a 15.7 at race city a couple years back in a 2.4L/5spd SS

your quote, and the above mentioned time is why I don't think that a good running 2.4L is in a whole different class from a (stock) LSJ-Cobalt...

Sorry that I forgot to mention your situation;
Man I heard about this pretty much as soon as it happened - I was very sorry to hear about it, but am glad to know that you (as in physically) are ok.

you should be able to get those parts easy-peasy locally from any dismantler;
you could go one of a couple routes;
route 1) only G5-GT or Pursuit-GT parts
route 2) open to using Cobalt SS parts

Only the bumper skins & rear tail lights are G5/Pursuit specific ~ otherwise the same fender and hoods are used on all Cobalt's & Pursuit/G5's...
(But I'm sure you know this already)

as I'm sure you also know the front bumpers are pretty much the same thing;
I pulled the interior out of a 2009 Cobalt SS that I found on car-part.com last summer ~ that car was (IMHO) an easy fix, but autopac wrote it off ~ it was the same colour as yours too.

so is it safe to presume that there's no real structural damage?

if it was officially involved in an accident, is it going to need a separate inspection after it's fixed?

If I can help you find anything, or if some saturday you would need help bomobing somewhere to pick up parts give me a shout...

15.7 is still a second slower than a stock LSJ, I'd say that is in a different class. It'd have to have mods to hang with it for sure, just like an LSJ needs Stage 2+ to hang with SS/TC (stock).

you just pulled a typical CobaltSS.net blunder;
you CANNOT compare runs between different cars running at different elevations.

the best I have personally seen a stock LSJ run was 15.3 - I've seen ALOT run slower.
I nearly beat one in my Grand Am back in 2007... (or maybe it was 2008??)

If I'm not mistaken that was my brother and if it's the one I'm thinking of, race city's clocks were messed up again but his slip said 15.7

Ha, that I did.

I was skimming and saw "Fastest 2.4 did this" then you posted that time, I thought we were still talking about the fastest on the site in that timeslip thread.

Too much jumping around for my tired eyes .
