here we go, got the car on the dyno today and was very disappointed!
for some reason the car was only spooling to 15PSI but every time i drive on the street it makes 20psi, i told troy the guy who was running the dyno and he said to me the drum it self doesnt have the same restance as you would on the street witch causes less of a load for the car causing less boost build up.
anyways the car made 249.47whp and 263.40tq at 15PSI
he said the car def should be around 300whp but you can see where it got to rich, i hit a rat the other day and it ripped the wires out of my wide band so untill i have money to afford a new wideand the car cant be tuned more.

for those who wanna be smart asses the hood is popped the hood is not warped!

and way off topic, i went with a buddy yesterday to see if i could handle a tattoo while he got his, and ended up getting my 1st tattoo

ROFL!!!! pykie, your awesome, **** my cobalt made that with 60 lb injectors, 2.8 pulley, meth and h/e and a bad tune, total price. $1000. You spend $20,000+ and make that. Yes i know your isnt a lsj ss/sc but still. Everytime you post you put a smile on my face.

Anyways, i got some ******* lucky last night. Dispite the hurricane i was driving around, went to my buddies place in sackville, cuz of the way the rain was spraying with the wind, it looked like a winter white out condition..that was all fine. Came back to my moms with the rental (Sonatra...nice car btw) and the owner of the building said i can park in 1 of 3 spots...least likely of getting damaged from the storm....glad i didnt listen her...came out later that night, a huge tree landed in those spots, no damage to any cars but the rental would have been crushed.

for one thing that uncorected number sae is even less

for one thing that dyno for numbers is all over the place from my dyno from my car it made 8% less than my dyno 2 to 3 years ago now over 25% lower than my dyno

it could be one thing that they put a load on the dyno to lower numbers for other poeple

i did a car this summer it made 600 whp and on that dyno it only made 442 whp

so take my car i ran 10.48 at 146mph and the cars weight and me 2750 pds at 600 whp

that would mean at 440 whp on that dyno there no way i can run 146mph at 440 whp

i dyno my car every time before i go to the track to make sure the run perfect the graph tell if there a problem

and the car runs whit in 5 hp every year a put it on the dyno

also by the look of the graph that tune sucks because the hp fall pretty fast i think you should shift at 5000 i dont see the rpm on the graph but the car should make power over 5k and on that graph it dont

I thought about ordering the kit haha, but figured i'd be better off with sticking with the Gen4's anyways, but ****, wish i would of bought the black lights now haha.

The white halo will look good.

Don't worry haha, the GEN4's aren't going anywhere lol, they only may come out to be painted black, but thats it.

i got off the gass at 600rpm, the graph drops on its face at 5500 witch is normall for stock cams as i was told from other tuners. no worries Danny, the car will be in your hands over the winter.

Doesnt line up because im not a pussie like everyone else and i have the car lowered 4.5 inchs in the front and 4" in the rear and when i turn the car rubs on the fenders causing it to push out!
and not my fault the car wouldnt build the full 20 psi like it does ont he street

that's fine chris... but don't make excuses for your numbers... if it's not building the full 20psi it's because of the car not the dyno... there is more than enough resistance there to get the same PSI as you do on the street... i have no problem spiking 21psi and holding 20 on the same dyno... goodluck with the tuning this winter.. maybe you can work the bugs out..

Headlights look great Jerren, so you did end up with painting them black instead of imperial blue?

well it was weird the car ran 20 the way there and the way home but on the dyno it was 15, and i said what troy told me he thought it was, he said hes seen it happen before, last yr my car ran 8psi on botht he street and dyno.
although i did tighten the trubo up later that night, but it still spooled 20psi on the way home.

well from my dyno there is something wrong or they are doing something to lower my numbers

and for the headlight how is the light going to refleck of a black housing most poeple in the old days left the crome around where the bulb went and painted the rest to match the car

i think you need to invest in another set of light if you want to see at night

There will be a retrofit projector in the lights Jerren has. There will be no reflector like the stock housings. He'll see fine, the black is a simple appearance modification.

as Murrant said there will be a projector in there, so the reason I painted all the chrome black so there won't be any glare from the projector.

Chris stop making excuses...damn, you got a excuse for every thing wrong with your car, just admit, its a cobalt and its a pos, once you come to terms with that, you will understand.

And like florence said, your numbers are uncorrected, mine were corrected and if you claim your tune was rich, well mine was 10.8 with a 25hp drop at 3500rpm. So if i made 245whp correct and you made 249, i still made more whp then you with only spending $1000, once again i know my car came stock with a blower, but still....you put way to much money into that car and your not going to get what you want out of it.

And like everyone is saying, theres nothing wrong with the dyno, myself and half the people in this thread have been on that dyno with no issues, and i was actualy talking to james when he was hooking the dyno to the truck this weekend and he never mentioned anything wrong with it. I'm pretty sure if there was a issue with resistance, no one would ever dyno there car in the world...all dyno's are like that. I hit 18psi with a 2.8 on the road and dyno. I wonder why your car is so special.

Anyways, off that bs...i guess the storm canceled the plans for wings but ill be going to the TBR when i come down in a few weeks.

sounds good buddy! i'm on the Naval Boarding Party course so i won't be at sea for a while.

as for pykies quote about making 300hp with a better AFR ... lets see it... because we can all talk about how our cars will make more power with a bit of tuning... it's whether your car actually DOES make that power that matters... because im pretty sure with the right amount of money i could make my car make 300hp no problem... stop bench racing please. if it is 300hp with the setup you have lets see the numbers..
