Im on the 101.. Car started to heat up.. Hit 110C .. Shut her down and am now waiting for gm towing.. There isnt a drop of coolant in the resevoir and no visible leaks... Found coolant under oil fill cap.. Looks like head gasket.. We'll see what the dealership says

car is at dealership... we'll see what they say tomorrow i guess... got low coolant the other day and checked resevoir... it was barely below the cold line so didn't think much of it... then two days later bone dry... no smoke... no leaks visible and car ran fine and boosted to 20psi no problem all day. But it ran a little weaker on the way home.. then warning again... so i put temp indicator up and watched it on the way home... went between normal 89 and 93 of and on... figured it was fine... then it climbed to 110 and i pulled over and shut it down.. popped the hood and resevoir was bone dry.... and fan was running steady...

Called GM and here i am... 1 1/2 hours later the tow truck showed up after GM told me 45 minutes... then he said... so did you request a flatbed? because it's extra... i said no... maybe they did because my car sits a bit low? he said they don't know that... i said they asked for my vin on the phone so they should know the model... he said naw it's a third party company doing service for GM. They don't know... also they only cover up to 32k to a dealership which would leave me holding the bag for the flatbed charge a 10k over... he waived it though because obviously GM never told me there were stipulations to a warranty tow. He said goodluck with warranty... his friend that works with him had an SS and engine blew... they checked computer and it said he was driving it hard on redline alot... so they wouldn't cover it. I said well that sucks but they are gonna pay for it because i don't drive it hard all day long and i do my regular maintenance to a T. Oreagans told me warranty would never be a problem if i did my maintenance according to the schedule. Then oreagans ran out of rental cars and offered me a taxi chit... i said um ok .. to windsor? he said oh... um... ok.... he called the service manager and got me a focus from another place...

i'll keep yas updated...

How many kms on the car? My money is on you having a porous block. Your coolant is just going straight to the oil pan by the sounds of it. That would explain coolant disappearing with no smoke or leaks.

just rolled 36k .. hoping it is just that and get a new engine out of it... but we'll see :/ somehow i doubt Oreagans is smart enough to figure out what a porous block even is... but who knows... i'll find out tomorrow :/ even with moderate driving i can't see a car blowing a head gasket this early... hell it's not like i redline it all day... i'm lucky if i ever hit the redline... when im giving it a bit i only go to about 5,800 - 6,000.. hoping the oil/coolant mix that i think might exist doesn't screw the turbo too

If you went through that much coolant in two days because of a headgasket you would see excessive white smoke. Enough to notice it while driving. Same goes for a bad coolant passage in the turbo. And since you don't see any leaks it seems as if the only logical explanation would be a porous block. Whatever is happens to be hopefully you're not out of a car for too long. GL, sucks to have to drive a Focus.

they were going to make u pay for a tow truck to tow your car to the dealership?...that is funny because one time the steering wheel locked on our cobalt and we couldn't get it unlocked...we called them and then we got it unlocked...we didn't have to pay for a service call there or even for that matter the tow truck and that was though o'regans

no the driver said he'd square it away... i explained that i was not told flatbeds weren't covered by GM and i did not request a flatbed nor was i aware that towing only covered up to 32km.. so **** on GM if they expect me to pay when the closest dealer to my problem was 45km away... they can't expect people to stay close to a dealership in case they need a tow... lets face it... most of the time people get stuck on a highway nowhere near a dealership...got a rental til they figure out what's wrong... we'll see how long that is...
