I think 1.6 1.7 should be possible on slicks. I think a big problem is a lot of people don't launch hard enough. I watch a lot of people doing street tire style launches on slicks .

Not a SS but a good example of what fwd slick launch should look like

If you look at my one slip before the guy who I raced beside ran a 1.6 60" and he ran high 9. Oh and he was rear wheel drive... And this site got shut down before I made my best pass and these were there 60"

I used to cut a 1.7 60' on slicks back when my car was all-motor, 193whp 13.3@99mph in the 1/4.

Its by no means impossible...you just have to really commit to the launch.

Anyone ever update this anymore??

Ran into some issues over the weekend, best I could get on paper was

12.01@116mph

LSJ/LE5 Hybrid, stock bottom end, T3/T4 turbo, 15psi

This makes me smile lol so sleeper!

I'm heading to the track this weekend, never have launched the car on the turbo setup yet, not even on the street on street tires lol, so don't expect much, especially since it is going to be colder out. I'm guessing 12.0 @ 132 mph

With my automatic Cobalt "station-wagon", (HHR SS)...

I'm using a "boosted-Launch" , 2,500 RPM @ 5 PSI , & running M&H 8.5"x23.5" x15" slicks...

1.8s 60' = 12.4s for me.
1.7s 60' = 12.3s for me.

I made 6 passes on Thursday night, & ran 1.7s 60' on every pass,
& ran 12.3s on every pass, with a best of 12.30…

You missed some pretty good air, DA = around 1,000 , which is about what the track altitude is.
Plus good track-prep, as they had a track rental that afternoon, which left,
some good rubber down at the line..

My last 2 runs were "Round-Robin" style , only 18 minutes apart.

At 9:35pm I ran a 12.33 @ 109.70
At 9:53pm I run another 12.33 @ 110.00

DI engines, got to love them, no cool-down required between rounds...

I wanted to go but I just didn't want to drive out there. I just need to invest in a good tire set up. I'd easily be into 11s.

Idk. I dyno'd but wasn't able to get an accurate pull lol. The dyno started at 4.2k rpms at 75 mph. Wanted to start at 2.5k. Did 286 on that
