New Drag Times Thread
I think 1.6 1.7 should be possible on slicks. I think a big problem is a lot of people don't launch hard enough. I watch a lot of people doing street tire style launches on slicks .
Not a SS but a good example of what fwd slick launch should look like

Oh I'm not calling anyone out. I'm asking for proof. My friends who run mid 10's have a 1.6 60". Prove me wrong then let's see some videos.
If you look at my one slip before the guy who I raced beside ran a 1.6 60" and he ran high 9. Oh and he was rear wheel drive... And this site got shut down before I made my best pass and these were there 60"

Its by no means impossible...you just have to really commit to the launch.
I'm heading to the track this weekend, never have launched the car on the turbo setup yet, not even on the street on street tires lol, so don't expect much, especially since it is going to be colder out. I'm guessing 12.0 @ 132 mph

I'm using a "boosted-Launch" , 2,500 RPM @ 5 PSI , & running M&H 8.5"x23.5" x15" slicks...
1.8s 60' = 12.4s for me.
1.7s 60' = 12.3s for me.
I made 6 passes on Thursday night, & ran 1.7s 60' on every pass,
& ran 12.3s on every pass, with a best of 12.30

You missed some pretty good air, DA = around 1,000 , which is about what the track altitude is.
Plus good track-prep, as they had a track rental that afternoon, which left,
some good rubber down at the line..
My last 2 runs were "Round-Robin" style , only 18 minutes apart.
At 9:35pm I ran a 12.33 @ 109.70
At 9:53pm I run another 12.33 @ 110.00
DI engines, got to love them, no cool-down required between rounds...
