I'm talking height. You had said "big slicks", we really don't need anything big, a 24.5" will do. Just run a 15" wheel and that'll be more than enough.

Yea I wasn't talking tall, I said big as in sidewall. That wheel is small, bigger sidewall = more traction.

I'd be happy with a 2.1-2.0 60ft. I met a guy with s peed 3 who went 12.9 on street tires with a 107 trap , managed a 1.9 60. he said he did with seat time and retarding timing in in he cells affected during launching , pretty clever...took him 97 runs last year but he pulled it off lol.

I mean I guess if that's your goal to run 12s on streets tires cool, but 1.9-2.1 60fts are still crap. On slicks the cobalt is a different animal. All these members spend so much on making the car go fast, and do nothing for traction on a fwd and wonder why they can't break out the 13s lol.

yeah , its depressing seeing so many cars running 13s and trapping in the 110+.

Once my wife gets a new car i'm taking her redline as my daily, then i'll buy a beater truck and a trailer or a AAA membership so i can tow the cobalt home if i need to. then i'll run slicks and shoot for 1.6 60s because you have to be of the mind set that you give no ***** if you break something lol like by buddy Greg in his festiva. best hes done is 11.78 @ 115 with a 1.6 60

cobalt guys need to start launching like this

Add a disappointment to the list. lol. The DR's didn't do much for me. Always either went out too hard or too soft. Never found the sweet area before I got bad misfires from a 1-2 NLS. Going to grab myself a new clutch and spark plugs and take the car up to Cecil. I have no doubt I'll be into the 12's consistently there.

I was left lane, car #8894.

Those dr's on 18s aren't doing much for you, you need to move down to at least a 17inch with a Hoosier drag slick. 15s would be ideal if you deleted brembos.

Whats the festiva weigh? 2000 lbs. Not that impressive to pull a 1.6 in a car that light.

If you have ever seen the front suspension of one you would think otherwise lol. The lower control arm is a dog bone and the sway bar. Its a miracle the wheels don't get ripped off.
a 1.6 in anything fwd car is impressive to me.

I'm still on my shootout for 12's here in 2014.. thats really all I care to see, just gotta get something better than the greasy KDW's I had on there, and work on the tune a bit more and it should be do-able without issue

my intake valves are gunked up pretty bad though so before tuning can commence I should probably get on that

my current best time:
13.492 @ 108.31 w/ 2.24 60'

If I can get a new clutch put in by the end of the month, I'm going to head out to Cecil to get 12's. My buddy couldn't beat 13.3 at Delmar in his CTS-V, yet runs 12's at Cecil.

First time out this year with a few new mods but same crap tires.

New: KYstg3 clutch, MPX shorty ic, MPX 3" exhaust and Trifecta e47 tune.

I'm working on some better tires n eventually a slick set up but i want to get in a couple dozen more passes in with this clutch n tune first. Perhaps some rotated mounts also.

Ah my bad. On my phone and it wouldn't pull up the vid. Easily a high 12second car with a good launch. I'm one to talk though. :/

We definitely need a new thread or a ton of updating...
