Joining the fun here. Trans and clutch said after 73k on the clock. I'm pretty sure I cracked the case cause its leaking trans fluid bad. Further inspection will tell.

I broke mine because of wheel hop at the track only. I have MANY drag passes on the car. I will be upgrading mounts and trans now.

I'm in need of a F35 trans with G85(looking to urgrade my 1 wheel wonder). Anyone pm if they got something.

That's bad... appears to be leaking from the Bellhousing area... hopefully it didn't get on your clutch, otherwise, your clutch is toast as well.

I punched a nice hole in mine from the differential case to the bellhousing. Actually, I blew parts through right there.. and my leak looked just like that.

I got lucky though and it didn't get on my hyper single. It all just kind of flowed out. haha.

Finally i get to join you guys with complaining about this damn F35. I drive down to DC from Philly perfectly fine. Then when i get off the highway and hit local streets second gear decided to grind any time i tried to put it in gear. At first i thought it was me but i tried multiple times and different ways to not grind the gears. So now i'm driving around First to Third everywhere i go. I am lucky that it has lasted 78,000 mi. Why can't Chevy make their own tranny. I'm assuming it is issues with the second gear synchro, so now im gonna get that fixed and swap the clutch and flywheel out at the same time. I would love to get LSD as well, but they are soo damn expensive. Does anyone have a used stock one from the G85 package?

Is it popping out too? It could be a rail slider or shift fork too.

Synchro went out slowly in 2nd if your 2nd gear pops out randomly it will eventually grind bad once then a few weeks down the road it will grind every time you put it in. On 2nd tranny.

This just happend to my car today and i have 50,000km and Gm wont cover because they said it was from wheel hop and launching witch i dont do cuz no lsd . there was a half inch steel rod in the tranny that holds the gears it broke and shout throught the bell housing and granade the clucht flywheel tranny 6 inch hole right beside the diff.

3rd gear went out at 13200 miles... i have no clue what broke, but i know it is a very loud click, no 3rd gear, goes in gear without clutch but is basically in neutral. i was just downshifting to get off the highway and bam. blew it all to hell

Er... the only problem I've had so far was my shift knob wouldn't stay on, but I got a new one now.

okay so the swap went okay. transmission and mounts went into the car, pretty much everything is all the same. only one small difference. only problem is, when the car go put all back together it will crank but no fire. plugged in HPT and saw no DTC's. reflashed the ecu to the stock gm s2 tune. comunicated with ecu okay. still just cranks with no fire. scanning shows rpm, pw, duty cycle, and 6* of timing during cranking. no fuel smell or vapors out of the tail pipe even after some cranking. so I am thinking that the injectors aren't actually opening, but not sure. everything was taken back apart and rechecked, connections were rechecked. So I don't know if its possible that the plugs for the injectors and for the plugs got reversed? Or if its possible that the ECU could have gone bad. It was unplugged and set on a bench for 4-5 hours. IDK WTF is going on. Just cranks and cranks without firing.

Any ideas?

Also, found my map sensor is cracked. I only see the 3bar on CED, is it okay to run a 3bar sensor? Would I need to re-tune anything for it? I'm just running the SC with either 3 in in the winter or 2.8 in the summer. Will be on 80#s too this summer for the 2.8 so don't worry about me running that 2.8 on 42.5's.

I listed a poll to find out what gear... but please state in a post what caused the gear to fail.
In cases where the whole tranny was buggered.... I guess, just post up "I f*cked the tranny bad!"
I just changed the clutch with a stage 2set up, the trans is making awfull noise!! What went wrong ??? I changed the clutch release bearing, it also serves as input shaft bearing support. Is there some adjustment or does it goes in as is ??

Can anyone send me an exploded diagram of this transmission ?

Thanks !

Grinds into 2nd and reverse with clutch all the way in at sporadic moments. And doesn't like to throw into 3rd gear all the time. 31,000 miles with intake and exhaust. clutch slippages in second at times. Been grabbing decently lately.

Sounds like either your Synchros are fkd, your shift linkage is screwed up, or most likely: You need to replace your Roll-Pins.

Search out the Roll-Pill replacement thread which is in the How-To section. That might fix your problem.
