My box is for a triplet of 8's. Also you asked in another post why buy a Cobalt(or G5 in that case) if you want a big box. Usually it is about SPL less cabin space = more SPL(roughly).

Lol.
I took a Kicker Subwoofer out of its manufacturers enclosure with a port, probably about what I described there in my previous post and built a giant 3 cuft box tuned into the 20's. It was 3 times bigger than the kicker box. It yielded only 2 db across the board on all frequencies tested and with music. So you build a box that takes up the entire trunk for 2 db? Or you use the box just over a cube that doesnt kill your gas mileage and still leaves room for work and sports equipment.

I get it, when I was 20 I filled a car with the enclosure and shoe horned 6 10" subs into it. Building a box is an art and part of the fun. I love it, but I am now convinced (32 years old now) that a good enclosure with a great sub will yield you all the bass you need. See if I can get my eyeballs to resonate in my head or my ears to tickle I know I have hit my resonant frequencies. I have done that with a single ported sub and 1000 watts before.

To each his own, just enjoying box building on a smaller scale and with RE Audio or Image Dynamics you dont need big boxes. You need lots of power to move the motor assemblies.

Right you can totally take a compact setup and rock your world but sometimes having the big guns is fun

Who said anything about it being in the trunk? When I am finally done with mine I will still have more trunk space than you since your setup is in the stock box. 07BlackG5 and I don't like passengers so we are choosing rear seat replacement options with our boxes.

Bump for newbies. Got a new setup planned out but it will stay hush hush for now. Currently rocking a 1997 Funkin' Audio SL15 D.2 on a PPI 600.2 while working on something to rival Burlow

Slight system update, got my FA SL 15 and rear RF6x9's running off my Sundown SAX100.4D but ran out of wood for the wall for now so I am focusing on my mids and highs in my doors until I free up some money and time to get more wood for the wall... And until I figure out my reliability issue with the car not starting.

Here's my current set up:
Pioneer AVIC x940bt
Alpine mrx-m240
Two alpine type R's
Kinetik hc2400 battery
All zero gauge wiring
Stinger volt gauge

I know it's nothing super special, but it works very well for me.
