Running lights wired into turn signals? Or...

I finally got the right switchbacks and have had them all hooked up for about 2 weeks now. I everything seemed to be working as they should until yesterday when I looked into the reflection of a ricey civic and realized they were running orange. So I got home and checked them out. They run white as they should when the headlights are on, and even just the fog lights. But when its just the running lights, they are Orange. When they ARE white they switch to and from orange when turning as they should. Just can't get the running lights to run white, which is the reason I bought them. I have just been running my fogs so they'll be white but Id like them to work properly.

I called 3Bspecs and he said the only thing that he could think of is that the running lights run off of the turn signals, making them orange.

So I ask you cobalt masters, Wtf? (05 Cobalt SS)

The running light's during the day are the high side of the turn signal bulbs, when the turn signals blink with the driving lights on the bulb just flashes on and off. I don't really think there's a way you can change it because if you did it would make your turn signals white. Hope this helps

So the point of Switchbacks is only for night time use? I thought that the point was for them to be white during the day.. they still look sick at night by matching my headlights, but the main reason I bought them was to get a white light during the day

theyre going to be orange due to what tuna said. they are the bright side of the bulb durring the day. if you turn your fogs on all the time, it would kick them down to the dimmer filament, and would be white instead of orange

your turn signals are your running lights when your headlights or fogs are not on. i just got switchbacks too. did you use a resistor to install them?

Gotcha. Kind of sucks because I dont like the orange running lights but I can just run fogs.

Yes I used resisters, but I dont think I needed them. I installed one, and then before I did the other I put the bulb in alone to see this "hyperflash" and it worked the same speed as the one with the resister. But i still but the second one in for good measure.

I would suggest it.. but if you need them, not a big deal. I was a bit worried because I dont do any kind of electrical work with wires.. but it was the easiest thing i have done to the car yet. Just make sure you get the right wires together and use the blue splice connectors if they came with them!

id just turn my running lights off when i get in the car

look up how many amps or voltage your regular lights should be pulling and then go to radio shack to find a resistor that will draw that much voltage.

or just check the bulbs resistance with a multimeter and match that
