Jn2's turbo build thread
well i just bought the DSM o2 housing off a auction on ebay, here's some pics i took from the auction
this will work perfect, it will connect to the turbo, and i already have the flange to connect to the o2 housing so i can just weld up the dp from there, BTW its stainless steel
pics taken from the auction i won, i will take more when it get here

so i get a spare gasket too, cuz i already have a gasket for the turbos hotside, now i have too

thats pretty cool i'm curious to how that'll work out for you.. it looks like it'll work perfectly..
if i ever decide i want more power and to not be unique i'll know what to get

small idea for you...buy a 20$ piece of aluminum offline and weld to the intercooler....then bolt it up using the lower bumper retainer holes...if you use a big enough washer after you install it...you can still put the bumper retainers on and it looks completely stock
got any pics to explain what you're talking about so i can understand it ? haha i think i see what you're talking about
pics would be nice, but i was just plannin on welding the brackets to the impact bar, and the bracket come down and hug around the inlet and exitof the intercooler, so it'll hold it nice and snug, and makes it so the intercooler is removeable, i dont mind thw welding, i mean if i take the IC off you wont see the brackets that hold it

im not made of money, the next part wont be till next saturday, i will be buying the ebay intake, i will route the piping diffrently now...from the trubo is will go to the driver side, down and around the radiator, than to the IC, after the Ic it will go around the corner and into the CAI, the intake of the turbo will be made after i see what kind of room i have to playw ith
That BOV is going to flutter and cause compressor surge. It will work ok enough though until you can afford a real one. I replaced mine with a real Greddy Type-S I scored, and there was a huge difference between the fake one and the real one. No more flutter at all or whistling.
Do you have pics any pics yet of how you were trying to mount the intercooler? I'm curious as to what we might be able to suggest to help you out.

i will hit up MS paint righ tnow and draw it up, and i figured the BOV was going to be a bit blahish, but like i said 200 for a BOV, ha ha, not right now, i will get the real one once i have everything set

I would personally get a couple strips of stiff aluminum, make some L brackets, and weld them to the intercooler. Then bolt it up to the bumper. Easy enough to do and then you don't have to mess up the bumper.
yeah but im to lazy, plus i already bought all the brackets, and i dont m ind welding onto the impact bar, not like you;ll be able to see it, it wont be visible from the front or the top, the only way to see its welded is to have it on a lift and look up from below, and witht he IC off the brackets wont even show
well i did some fitting right now, wht i am goiing to do:
weld a 2"-2.5" pipe onto the compressor exit, so that it comes out 2.5", instead of the stock 1 3/4, plus makes it so i dont have to buy a 80 dollar pipe i wont be using, the j pipe wo nt work, it will route the piping to a dead end, and i cant cut it, cuz than it would of been a waste...so i will weld onto the turbo, no big deal, ive seen it done before, than on the pipe i will weld the bung for the pressure fitting to go to the wastegate, after the 2-2.5" pipe is welded on, i will use a 90* coupler followed by a 90* pipe to route the piping towards the diver side bottom right hand of the engine, than i will continue down with the BOV adapter pipe, followed by a straight and a 45*, followed with the "u" pipe to go around the radiator, after the U it should be at the intercooler, after that all i have to do is route some piping to connect to the CAI, once that is set i will see what room i have left and make the intake part of the piping, if i have no room, i will just throw the filter on the inlet itself

i sure will, if you take a look at original post in this thread. post #1, everything is staying up to date as i promised, right now the only mechanical thin needed to start is the manifold, i left it for last...once that is in, i will take a day to make all the piping work...take loads of pics...and take it all off and order the tune when i knwo everything is fitted right...i will be ordering the CAI next saturday, and the manifold in a couple weeks...i expect to be boosted by early july, pretty good time considering i decided to t/c in late april, less than a month later i have almost everything ready

i didnt clamp everything down as i am only fitting it right now, but i was left with like 5 left over pipes, whcih i could use to make a few bends i might need to connect to the turbo and the CAI, so yeah, one FMIC kit is more than enough piping to get the job done, i havent dont the mounting bracket for the IC, so thats why there are boxes holding it, but that is where it will sit
hey man yo might wanna use the CAI where the bov is and fun the bov before it and us the bend from that pipe to goto the intercooler it'll be easier for you and you need the BOV before the maf looks awesome though man it's inspiring
the BOV will be before the MAF, the pipng on the driver side will go to the turbo, and the piping on the passenger side of the IC is where the CAI will connect to, than that will go to the throttle body, basically im keeping the same setup wth theCAI as if the car was n/a, except nstead of a filter at the end of it, it will be morer pping leading the IC, so it will go like this
turbo->BOV->IC->MAF->TB, i know yu cant tell from the pic, but where the bov pipe is at the other end wll connect to the piping that comes of the turbo, all my piping will be in black, not just gloss black, but black chrome, i will begin to look for a shp that can ceramic coat it for me in black chrome, cuz i wan the pipes to be reflective like chrome, but black(basically black chrome)
i might move the BOV down, i might have the BOV connect at the bottom, than use the 45" pipe after the BOV, just to hide it...it works the same, just i dont like the look of the BOV being so dam close to the engine...looks to crowded, i know when i start settng everythng up for a permanent setup, i will have 2-3 other team members helping me out, so far have done it all by myself, but i know i will have to cut some pipes...the pipe on the left of the IC has to be cut a couple nches so it wll line up with the CAI, than a pipe will bend it upwards to where it wll connect to the CAI...
