Do Cobalt 2.2's stutter under acceleration or is it just mine?

I've had my base Cobalt coupe, manual, for about a month now. At moderate acceleration you feel a stutter or shudder at around 2500 RPM. Anyone else? I was hoping that it would grow out of it as it got boken in. It's at about 3000 miles now and has done it since day one.

It's also not nearly as powerful as I was expecting coming from a 90 HP VW Golf diesel. I read somewhere on the net that Ecotec's don't develop their true strong-pulling power until their fully broken in. I'm holding out that hope since I'd rather not have to bring it back to the shop. It's already been towed once.

I have an auto on my LS, but it pulls smoothly and strongly no matter what RPM I'm at. It could be a manual tranny thing...I dunno. I've heard the same thing about Ecotecs becoming more powerful after they're fully broken in. They also get better gas mileage too...usually 1 or 2 mpg better.

As far as I'm aware I'm not feeling a stutter on my LS...though I've only been driving standard for two months so I could just be missing it since I still have days on occasion where I'm more worried about a smooth transition between gears rather than what exactly the car's doing.

Why wait any longer, if you feel there's a problem then take it to the dealer and have them take a look.
