F-Body guys opinion of Cobalt SS
I really hope this isn't the crowd I have fallen into by buying a Cobalt SS.
Maybe my CSS is a freak but I haven't had a problem with SRT-$'s yet. Except for one with a nice little boost controller @ 18psi.
To he is currently putting in a new head gasket.

Stock for stock I would have to agree (sorry guys) that the srt-4 is just a tad quicker through the quarter for it pulls strong throught the final push.
But even in pro FWD drag racing it is conitinously proven that the ecotec is the most consistant, power friendly motor avialable to mod today. Lisa Kubos was a factory honda driver, and since her switch to the ecotec program ( she runs an ION) she has set many records along with racemate nelson hoyos. Shaun from dodge runs well, but is always outtracked by the ecotecs.
And ALL of these same proven race parts are available through GM performance parts catalog. Similar to the MOPAR available parts.
Again we are all tuners here, and it's not what you drive, but how you build it. I chose the SS simply because I love the body lines way more than the egg looking neon, I know the motor is the best proven race 4 cyl, and the interior is far superior.
I just don't know what chevy was thinking with that wing.

before you do anything get your car base line dynoed, then do the "computer tweaks" for 270 hp, dyno it again and then come on here and prove it. not calling bs, but so far we get tons of bs thrown around from my friends knows a guy who knows a guy that knows a guy's dad uncle's gramma that works for gm crap and says this...... so get a dyno before and after then we'll be happy.
oh and to cody's opinion on ss over f-body i'd so chose an f-body camaro any day of the week, if i could afford insurance, i'm a die hard camaro fan, and right now i'm trying to figure out if i want a 02 z28 or an ss balt, i dont want to buy the balt and then 2 months later gm makes it turbo and there is so much more aftermarket support behind it, that will get me pissed. but a camaro has raw out ***** that will still smoke the new mustang gt's stock for stck baby, hail all mighty LS1.
just trying to get back to topic more. he he.

Someone's got to be the first to push the stock block to it's limits

Turbo > Supercharger. Why? Supercharger is limited by how fast the motor can spin. Turbo is not. However, add turbo to a supercharger and see w h e r e e v e r y t h i n g e n d s u p

Welcome to Kalifournia. Isn't it illegal to give your car a custom paint/graphics job?

lol thanks i didnt read all that neon bs bc i dont really care. anyway since im a fellow/previous f-body owner (still have my 01 v6 maro but i have to sell
) i thought i would add to this topic a lil. unfort when i got my maro it wasnt an ls1 but for a 16yr old a 4th gen maro was awsome. since then i got a lil more money and really wanted a new car... the cobalt didnt impress me at first until i took the test drive. to be honest i think i would woop on the v6 with my ss/sc. plus the interior is so much better over my base base v6 (any option it had i dont). now i love the camaro in so many ways but im going to have to say the balt is an overall better car (compairing to the base 6) lol im rambling but hey at least im on topic
