why can't i add a blow out valve
ok let me try to get this thread back on track with some facts.
Think of the big Roots SC 8cyl drag cars. Ever noticed any bypass plumbing on those SCs? No. That's because they have a a very simple overpressure valve right on the exterior composed of nothing more than 2 studs, 2 springs and a thick plate over a port. Emitting more of a clacking sound when they operate
Now what is a BOV? Pretty much a fancy overpressure valve.
So Basicaly a form of "BOV" has been used for many years on very high output SC cars.
Now the performance-minded reason someone might use one on our SC cars is to disable the electronic nanying of the bypass but still have the comfort of knowing they won't overpressureize the intake manifold.
But in all honesty it might not even operate the same (poping when shifting) since TC and SC build and drop boost differently. TC is reactive to engine "load" while SC is reactive to engine RPM. A BOV on an SC engine might release a bit, if say your at high revs but low throttle.
Installation would require drilling onto the intake manifold as anywhere on the intake pipe would be before the SC (IE not the pressure side)
