All Engines: Fuel Filter Change How-To with pictures
Doing this tomorrow. The guy at O'Reilly failed and thought I paid for the Fuel Filter day prior when I had to have it ordered. Walked out with 50 bucks of paint and a 30 dollar fuel filter and only spent $50. I will make sure I don't go back otherwise Ill have to obviously have some integrity. Where did you get the tools?
Is there a way to update the very first post with a notice to the California emission cars out there?
The Cali cars fuel filter is inside the tank. I was about to do this yesterday and spent 2 hours looking for the darn thing. Would have been easier if there was a disclaimer.
Thanks. Either way love the write up.

I need help guys. I have followed this guide exactly and now the car isn't turning over. Got back under the car and pulled the filter and its dry. By deduction i believe the pump has failed but any help or thoughts would be much appreciated before i throw money at the situation. Thanks in advance.

LOL I'm such a moron.... I fooled around with mine this afternoon for about half an hour, before taking a closer look at how the relay attaches. Moved it back to the right location, and sure enough, it starts right up. And I've replaced the filter before; this time I got bitten by the relay bug.... Gotta watch what I'm doing I guess. In all honesty, the location that "looks" like it might be the correct one, isn't. It has to be one slot further forward.
just changed filter and when I blew it out gas was brown after 7k I get my fuel at a new sheetz store that gets alot of traffic but I was noticeing power loss and thats where I started also got my filter at a auto zone for $19 napa wanted $32 I'm sure napa's is better but is there that much difference?
I didn't read all 13 pages of replies so someone might have already mentioned this but since I went through all the trouble of buying the part and tool and jacking up my car --- IF you have a TC SS (08+) this write up does not apply to you, the fuel filter is integrated with the fuel pump and it is not serviceable. Otherwise this looked like a very good write up I thought I knew exactly what I was going to do and looked simple up until the fuel filter was not where it was supposed to be lol
