I need to re wire mine, it isn't working anymore unless I go jiggle the wires under the hood.

Just finished rewiring, and decided to make a video so you guys can hear what it's like when the tires chirp lol. I used my cell phone so the quality sucks but oh well. The first video I rolled my windows up so the wind wouldn't affect the sound, but you can't hear the chirp as well. So I made a 2nd one with the windows down so you can hear the difference.

as i said before, to turn it off without stopping the car,
1. turn switch to off position
2. let off throttle
3. put car in nuetral or N
4. turn car off
5. start car back up
6. put car back in D
7. back to normal throttle.

this will reset the system back to normal pressure, aka turning it off.

its not stupid and it works, you don't lose power steering there is nothing wrong with doing this... in neutral u'll coast...

an explaination of why you consider is stupid would be appreciated cause i don't see the just cause.

Im not very technical so i dont know if FWL cars are the same but i do know that if you coast in a vehicle with rwd the driveshaft spins to the tranny, but the engine isnt on and nothing if feeeding the tranny with oil so it can cause serious wear/damage. Just something i saw on the show 'wrecked'

not so sure this affects a FWD, as i don't think frontwheel drives have a driveshaft like a rwd.

Do I really need to explain why turning off your car while driving down a populated road or highway is a bad idea? I see hypermilers doing it all the time and I hate it.

i understand why you think it stupid, i'm just saying that is possible to do this without stopping the vehicle... you can just as easily do this at a stop light or stop sign takes all of 2 seconds. that video is pretty funny those people are complete idiots. and i woudln't do this on a curvy road were talking interstate slow lane is were i did this and it worked.

Okay, cool. I've turned my car off at a light before too. Just warning others who are not as smart as you are to not do it.

Nice... Mine is pretty much permanently set on 1, though every once in a while I'll put switch it up to 2 just to mess around.

well, like i said, im not going to run more pressure than stock unless in a situation or at the track, until i at least get to talk to transmission world, my friend knows some extremely knowledgable techs over their that deal with shift+ on other chevy vehicles, and we are going to go buy there one day and see what they say the pros and cons and if its okay to run it on stage I or stage II all the time. until i know for sure im not risking it. the little that i did mess with it, i didn't experience anything that some people have experienced like the loud clanking noises etc... it still pretty smooth just noticably firmer... like i said from off to stage II the car is a completely different car, in stage I its noticable just not near as much.

Having the shift + supposedly increases the life of the transmission. Since it is doing quick shifts, there is less time of parts being used and moved.

Quicker shifts lessens the friction which is less heat which is less wear. But you're pretty much right.

what you guys are failing to understand is its the pressure on the line that is actually changed the parts above are true, but if the pressure your putting on that line in stage II is to much then it could still mess something up.. specially if the line is not meant to handle that kind of pressure. its not the friction im worried about.

Without the shift + you wouldn't even know our transmissions had more than 1 gear if you didn't look at the rpms.
