Appearance: Install rear SS lip on LS bumper
Well from what I have experienced, and what Chris@cta has posted (im sure hailcesar75 will correct me) it fits on both bumpers about the same, which is about a 1/2 inch over hang into each of the rear wheel wells. So the same amount of modifying is required for either bumper.
Without that downward extension, you don't have to cut the grille sections
I actually dont have the bottom of the lip lined right under the bumper at the corners. And it has held on pretty good for almost a year now. Imo it is better cuz it lowers the look of the combination of the lip/bumper when you look at it from the side.

Yeh, I was expecting to see the modified bumper back by yesterday (no paint though), but the guy doing it has been really busy and hasn't completed that part yet. It now looks like next week before I see the final product installed on my SS.
Been some more delays due to the shop's schedule, but I was informed this morning that they are getting the paint for my bumper this coming Saturday, so potentially, it's going to be early next week before I get the bumper back.
I have been wanting to do this to my ss/tc sedan since the day I got the car but have never got around to doing it. I am pretty much waiting until I can find a used black lip locally.
To hailcesar75: You the excess off? Do you have any up close pics at angle from front to back of the wheel well so I can see what it will look like up close. I don't see any point of having all this body work done if you can't really tell.
To Chris@CTA: Can't wait to see yours when it is done. I am interested in getting the same angle pic from yours aswell. I just want to compare the two and see the route I want to go.

For us whom have done it, or are doing it, the results speak (will speak) for themselves......You're gonna love the look.
False Alarm, still not finished.
My guy is way too busy for his own good, not spending the time to finish my bumper promptly. I was expecting to see it today ready for paint, but he encountered a couple of problem areas nearing each corner of the stock bumper. Seems the lip and this OE bumper cover I bought (both from GM), don't want to fit together easily. The areas nearing the corners of the bumper are not fitting up well. I know this is always an issue with the SS rear lip on stock coupe bumper. One thing I am happy for is that my guy wants to finish it to my satisfaction so I give him credit for asking me to come and see it and show me the problem areas, before he continues on with any more prep work.
Here are 3 pics I took this morning.

Sorry no pics, but my bumper was painted today with base coat and first coats of clear. A couple more coats of clear tomorrow, dry for a day, installing on Thursday late afternoon.
Another setback, guy calls me this afternoon to say that the bumper fell off the stand and part of it is cracked near the exhaust cut out. I have to go an inspect it before he continues. What a friggin drag this is.
Nearing Completion
I went this evening, along with a good friend of mine (whom also owns a Cobalt SS Coupe), to view the bumper. The crack, as described, is minor, will be fixed and repainted by tomorrow.
Yes, I know this is taking forever and I'm itching to get it installed on my car. In the mean time, here are some preview pics of the painted bumper. The lip was molded into the bumper. After all of this wait, I really do like the way it is turning out.

Can't wait to see it.
