Yeah pep **** boys fucked my oil drain bolt when they last changed my oil. Going back to them to fix their mess

Separating cap from filter

Is there a trick to removing the cap from the old filter? I bought both filter types (with and without cap) and I don't see how to get the cap off the filter without damaging anything.

Sorry to resurrect a thread, and yes I tried a few searches and couldn't find anything on this.

It just snaps off and snaps on.

Ok, thanks. Maybe it comes of easier once there's oil on it. It just doesn't seem to want to come off easily out of the box.
