I plan on going the 24th this month. They don't have anything special going on but I like to enter the trophy or sportsman class. You get 2 or 3 trail runs to set up your ET, then bracket race, if your lucky you'll get 3 more runs in. Sometimes they'll let you run after you've been eliminated depending on the turnout..

He looked familar, i think he ran last yr but it wasn't primered last year. but no i don't know him.

My dad was running the red vert and my friend alan was out in his bright green fukis. those were the only other ppl i knew.

yeah i think they are bs'ing us on that. Did anyone else get pissed at the fact the 60fts only somtimes appeared on the slips? I was mad because i was trying to see why i went from 9.0s to 9.2s and get my launch with the DR's dialed in.

 

I got 4 different looking slips each time, one didn't have the et, one only had et, one with all the info, and the last slip didn't have 60 ft time. It was strange

 

If anyone sees this, I'll be out at Newton again weather permitting.. what the heck have nothing better to do on a Sunday lately. I'll be in my MR2 this time around to compare the cars.

well seeing as its in, illinois, i dont think many people from this thread will be making it seeing as most of us are from the DSM area. would be fun if it was closer!

 

Cordova isnt really any farther than Earlville, been there a few times. If anything its somewhat quicker to get to because you take I-80 the whole way. I like that track a lot actually.

Its just in the Quad Cities.

I ended up getting an 8.697 @ 83 in the ole MR2 last weekend. If my boost controller would cooperate and I was cutting my usual 60 foots would be a lot better.

Time to put some mods on the Cobalt so it can keep up.

 

Yeah and thats the only thing keeping me from going to earlville is the drive, if we could get a track day going up there then i would go, knowing that i would be looking forward to seeing a bunch of friends but just to go up there to race id rather do it at newton or eddyville

 

Thats not bad. With trapping that speed you should be able to get a better time though. Stupid Iowa speedway..

Yah, I'd guess the car has 8.4's in it. My boost controller is giving me fits though. If i could get the darn car to run 18-19psi like I want everytime. However it looks like I'm selling it actually. I've decided I want to "upgrade" to a newer MKIII MR2 as my "toy car". I'll be turbocharging that or swapping another V6 into it, we'll see.

You guys will find out what other local people know, I go through cars very often Also I'm pretty much a RED car man.
