I think your missing something...What do you plan on holding the bolt with? Sure the nut spins...along with the bolt The problem is are stock ones leave you no where to grab onto the bolt that is spinning inside of the greased filled rubber thingy.

This is a common problem with are stock endlinks. Reading the Pedder install thread and sounds like most everyone is destroying the stock ones (trying to get them off) and having to either buy Moog or the OTTP ones.

jsut trying to figure out how things work. i'm still pretty green to the f/i world.

didnt you guys use a clamp/pliers or vice to hold the bolt then turn the nut with a crescent wrench?

anyone use a kneeling "stool" as a desk chair? My desk chair broke last night and I'm thinking of getting this one :

m62.
3.0 pulley
fujita 3'' cai
sieman's 60's
lsj TB
zzp s2 h/e

plus i have C/A's v1 header, XTC dp and gmp performance exhaust already.

hopefully be done by the end of the weekend.

everything is in. moved and rewired/hosed the windshield washer unit also.

still have to:
- put in the ic pump and plumb everything.
- put on belt (this by far i think is going to be the biggest bitch)
- move maf harness to cai and connect all pigtails together (tb is alread rewired, map is already pre wired/spliced to connect to the iat in teh maf, this i should have done tomorrow morning)
- start it up to see if i have any leaks. (cross's fingers)

Wait your running 60s and a 3.0 pulley dumb.
If you are running 60s your should be on at least a 2.7 or 2.8

another question... effective compression, whats usually the high end that most people go to when using a boosted application? and does octane levels in gas have an effect on how high you can go w/out becoming to detrimental to the engine?

i.e. 21.3 eff comp w/ 87 pump gas vs 21.3 eff comp w/ 92 pump gas.

if im doing the calculation correctly, i'll be at 21.3 effective compression w/ that 3.0

If you want to make your car go fast screw the 60s use 80s and put a 2.7 pulley on and run e85 my buddy was doing that and made 280 on the m62

(shrugs)

it's what i have to work with, so it is what it is.

i'm not asking these questions to start changing out parts, i'm asking so i can better understand what is going on.

question tho... the purpose of running bigger injectors is due to have the capacity to add more fuel to teh cylinder due to the more air being compressed into it from a smaller pulley, correct?

you say that 60's are best used with a 2.8 or less... 2,8 yields what... 17.5 psi?? (from the stock number given to me from a previous post) if that's the case, with the stock compression of an lsj (9.5:1 correct?), the effective compression would be just shy of 21 (20.8....).

compare that to a 3.0 pulley on my engine (stock compression 10.4:1, 3.0 pulley giving me 15.5 psi) and my effective compression is 21.4.

sounds like if i'm comparing the two this way, 60's are the way to go for me...

like i said earlier... i know jack about an f/i applicatoin, but i'm trying to learn.

60s were a good choice. It means you can pulley down, down the road and be fine. Has any 2.4 s/c gone e85? I dont hang out in that neck of the forums.
