Why not go to the store and buy a magazine? Takes a shitload of strain off the computer thats not really needed, and thus non sticky keyboard.

You need a special tool to compress the rings.

Because the rear brakes have a specific tool that you need to push the caliper piston back in with and I of course had to figure out a way around it and it was a pain in the ass without that tool. oh well I guess.

It was working, but the further we compressed the piston, the harder it was until it eventually didn't go any further in. I actually cracked a six-inch C-clamp in half from trying...

Yeah, I know... unfortunately, it was too late where everyone was closed by the time we figured out we needed it. Fortunately though, we found a work around...

while using the C clamp, turn it with some needle nose plyers.

yup its a good idea, new engine will have loose **** flowing around and in the filter. Myself I'll stick with the mobil 1. I hate going to walmart, but they have a 5qt jug for pretty cheap and the tc/ss takes 5 qt's so its perfect. for filters, I just bought them in bulk from Tom at CED so its cheaper.
