Game starts at 6....it'll be over by 6:15. You should easily be able to do anything saturday night. O wait, isnt Eastern Mich. a D1 AA team? In that case pitt might have a chance . Just kidding dan. I actually think there is a good influx of talent there. Wanny just has to figure out a way to maximize the potential.

Well that's the problem isn't it? He is just an awful, awful coach - always has been

It's not Dave's fault. Defense played like **** last year. It just seems like all the parts work... they just don't click at the same time. I have high hopes for the year.

See i really think the problem is that when they fired Harris, the team was moving in one direction with certain types of players that fit the direction. All of a sudden, they bring a new coach in that wants to play an entirely different type of ball. He didnt have the players there to do it. He has a 5 year contract and even though i dont have too much confidence in Wanny, i think he atleast deserves his 5 years to run the course.

No I understand that he inherited someone else's recruits, etc. but he is a proven loser in the NFL. He is just not a good coach.

5 year contract and out IMO.

In the NFL as a head coach he wasnt that good. As a D-coordinator he was decent. Won those superbowl rings with the Cowboys IIRC. I think him and Jimmy Johnson won 2 national championships at "DA U" also...

Well recruiting his players was a given. Harris ran a completely different offense (and note that Harris did run the offense). Wanny is a defensive minded coach... but tries to oversee the entire team and leave the coordinators to their respective jobs. Either way... Pitt went from a passing offense to a balanced offense. That's why the new recruiting classes have so many promising running backs.

At least they kept the same defense. Although, last year wasn't a good season from them. I'm hoping they get back to the defense they were 2 and 3 seasons ago.

Coaching in the NFL <> Coaching in the NCAA

I would have to blame that on Rhodes. I think he lost his scheming mind 2 years ago. After Revis got on board, it was all man to man no matter what. I disagreed with playing man almost every down no matter what other personel were on the field, or what the offensive position was.

Yeah I understand that as well, but let's have this discussion at the end of this season or even after next season and see what his record is.

I guess when we get bored of working on the Saturn tomorrow, we can head out to Mt. Pleasant. Dan says he is waking up damn early, so we will probably need a good Hillbilly break.

Yeah, uh. Do any of you guys happen to have seen a pinkish-red Taurus SHO down there? Got off at Mt. Pleasant to go to my grandparents tonight and had a run in with a really scary dude in a SHO. Blew his horn at me and waved, then followed me all through Scottdale, pulled over beside me at one point (on a 2 lane road no less) and just stared me down.

Didn't know if he saw a Cobalt and thought it was someone that'd been to Mt. Pleasant before or if it was just some crazed homicidal maniac that felt like creeping me out. He definitely had the inbred redneck vibe, which fits the types ya see down there.

As for the turbo Saturn, I'm off tomorrow as well, but I promised a different Denny I'd lend some car help. So I'll be helping partially disassemble a Studebaker Avanti tomorrow. Today was a lesson in fiberglass work (what a PITA). If you guys need help later in the day though, I can probably head down.
