Bought Sept. '05, have around 14,500 now... guess I haven't put TOO many miles on.

That will change as of February 8th though... that's when I start my new job... in Pittsburgh.

50000 miles in less than 15 months = 2942 miles a month.... beat that.

Wes... your car has spent more time in the body shop than mine has been on the road...lol

That was below the belt. It's gonna be off the road again for a bit of time too pretty soon.

Eh, I was gonna go through GM and get it fixed but I don't think so now. Right now we got a few ideas what it could be. I'm hoping it's just a headgasket but I think its more. Either a bad/stuck/worn piston ring or stuck/bent valve. Maybe even the piston itself but the car runs fine, so I don't think it's the piston. Also could be the PCV valve I guess.

We're just gonna take the head off and replace the headgasket. Then check to see what is really wrong once we are inside. If it turns out a bad piston or something, the motor is getting pulled and let the build begin cause I am not pulling this thing twice.

If anyone feels like giving their opinion: Symptoms are, dipstick popping out and squirting oil when I go WOT. Stays in while normal driving. White/gray smoke comes out of oil cap or dipstick if I open them. Smells like combustion so I think my motor is getting Blow-by. However, car drives fine. Even when I got WOT (yes I know I shouldn't while the car is like this) it is still strong.

Wes,

there has been a post or two about people's dipstick popping out @ WOT here. Most of them have done pulley swaps/ stage kits etc... and said the same thing... when the car is running normal, everything is fine, but when they get on it... POP

Also, someone suggested that part of it was due to the stiffer mounts shaking it loose and such... which you also have....

Just some thoughts.

I finally got a job with Verizon... only been trying for a year and a half! I'll be working on 7th Avenue... in a nice, warm office.

there was actually a notice out for the dipsticks popping out, i came across it when i was searching for when my car did that......They made a "new and improved" intake manifold gasket to replace the stock one. Just somethng to keep in mind. Only a 15$ gasket.

Don't know, trying to get Wes to do a wet compression test to find out whether it's the rings or something else. It's only one cylinder (SOMEONE left out that detail before) otherwise I'd say it's just a head gasket.

There IS coolant in the oil though, which indicates head gasket but compression should be low on two cylinders instead of one.
