I missed this link when I needed the LSD but if you need to fix\replace your tranny you may want to look into just buying a complete new one for $1905.US

I've thought about that... swaping for a F40 or for the F35 w/ LSD... but it's all thoughts. I don't even have $1500 extra... not to mention the round about $2500 to fix it. So I am in quite the predicament. I've thought about Lemoning it and going with a used Evo... but I love this car too much, and don't really want to get rid of it. BUT it is looking to be a money trap... I don't know if I will keep it past it's warrantied period.

Wonder how hard that would be to install myself... Hmm.

But I also found an Evo VIII for $20K... that's a hard deal to pass up. We'll see what this coming week has to offer.

about six months ago my second gear went out as well grinding horribly when you when you shift from any gear weather down shipping or upshifting and I've always downshifted in my transmission because whoever said is it easier to hit the gas or then put it in gear and hit the gas is totally right I didn't get second gear fixed because I didn't have cash to fix it at the time and just now driving down the road with my third and fourth gear went out all of a sudden I was getting ready to downshift to Third and passed somebody and I had nothing but grinding gears 3rd and 4th all I have is 1st and 5th

Old thread, but its not neccesarly the gears that are out. I would try and adjust the cables on the shifter. You might have stretched one.

Holy cow, what an old thread bump. And of all the possibilities... they bumped one of mine. Still have this transmission in my garage too.

But yeah... I don't see someone losing that many synchros. I'd check the fluid level and I'd check the roll pins.
