New exhaust, throwing Oxygen sensor codes???

I recently put on a Megans racing cat back system on and it threw out two O2 sensor codes. I also have a high flo cat on the car. Are there O2 simulators that I can put on to keep the engine light from coming on? Or do I have to put wide band sensors on? Either way where do I get them? (wide bands or simulators?)

The car also idles like crap!

its probably a p1406 or something like that? do you have a header on it? its probably just running rich. the o2s are tellin the comp to put more fuel into the motor because of how much exhaust is coming out of it now. just get a defouler for the downstream o2 and youll be good.

the code is from your high flow cat .... not your catback. you can purchase an angled cel eliminator.

High flow CAT is your problem. There are two ways to fix the CAT efficiency code. One is to tune it out with HPTuners. The second is to put a spacer on the O2 sensor that pulls it out of the exhaust stream.

What were both of the codes? If you were just getting the CAT efficiency code it shouldn't cause rough idle. by rough idle to you mean the the RPMs are jumping up and down? Is the car dying?

Not sure what the codes were. I took it to autozone to check it out and he said that it was both o2 sensors throwing the codes.

Yes the idle jumps up and down and sometimes dies. It smooths out at times though. I know on my camaro I had to put O2 simulators to "trick" the computer. Is that what I need to do here?

No header. What is a defouler? And where would I get one?

Does this eliminator get rid of the bad idle or just eliminates the CEL?

just the CEL. your bad idle could be due to a dirty throttle body or MAF sensor.

it is an o2 sensor extension that makes the o2 sensor farther away from the downpipe to make the code go away. i got a strup cel eliminator from clubrsx.com it was like 30 bucks

If cleaning the throttle body and MAF doesn't work, check sensor 1 (manifold o2 sensor). It may be bad, throws code P1131. The downstream sensor and Code is P0420 and I would think would have come up before you put the catback on.

Vince from trifecta can right a tune that can delete the rear O2 from you computer, or u can us a spark plug non fowler, put it in the O2 hole then put the O2 in the non fowler and that should solve your problem. you can get one at any auto parts store

What's the easiest way to go about cleaning your throttle body?

It's not from the catback, there are no O2 sensors behind the cat. It might be from the cat itself because it isn't tuned for that particular exhaust?

The rough idle is probably from a bad upstream O2 sensor. The downstream one is the one that can be ignored/tuned out, but the front one controls fueling. It COULD be from the MAF or something on the intake side, but if that's not it, you should next be looking at the front O2 sensor.

And, make those Autozone guys give you the codes!!! It's pretty hard to fix the problem without knowing what the ECU thinks is wrong.
