Screw this How To paint your Headlights

I don't know what planet this guy was on when he did this how to paint your headlights but is has been nothing but a nightmare since i started. Heat you headlights up to remove sealant is a joke after hours of heating and prying all i got was broken plastic around the headlight. You kind of missed the big ******* picture of how to seperate it like he did, but instead the how to says just pry it apart. What a joke, well thanks for wasting hours of my time and possibly some broken headlights!

Sorry to hear about that but I can honestly say from doing mine that that does work. i used a heat gun and 2 flat blade screw drivers and had no issues at all.

Hope your lights aren't totaly screwed dude.

I've done a set on my buddies TC, and it worked fine. It's very tedious and delicate work, but it can be done with a heat gun or an oven. What temp did you put them in the oven at?

i did it jus before my halo purchase. Worked like a charm. Maybe u should try a real heat gun instead of ur mothers blow dryer.

I've always heard use an oven, but don't urn it up too high, otherwise the glue will harden.

^^^^^^ Me too. Mine were easy to remove and replace. I get no condinsation either. The hardest part (which wasn't even hard) was removing the grey putty from the lights.

I did mine a couple days ago. It can be a bi_ch. The best thing to get the glue off is keep heating them up in the oven, its like a hot glue and gets really soft and easier to work with when its hot, and get MOST of it off. Not all. Thats almost impossible. I broke some of my clips, big deal. The new silcone will hold them together real good. Make sure you seal them up real good, and dont do what I did----forget to wipe your hand prints off the inside of the lens. The lights look 100% better for 2 hrs. or ur time and a can of paint, you cant beat it.
