Problems/Service/Maintenance Do you have problems with your new 2.0, 2.2, or 2.4L? What kind of service did you have done?

White smoke =bad???

just get a compression tester and test it yourself. It's not that hard.

Now from what it sounds like. You're burning oil... and the smoke coming out of the exhaust is actually blue, just a really light shade.

so you're looking at either valve seals or piston rings for the most part. A compression test will tell you which it is.

well you're going to have to dissassemble the block to replace the rings anyway. Might as well throw some stronger pistons in while you're at it at least.

sux you have to throw down on that large of a bill. But might as well make the best of it.

edit: on a side note, a brand new engine is gonna cost you 2500...

i just dropped my car off yesterday for the same problems, coolant tank has been re-filled 3-4 times in the past 3 months,

now it idles like it has parkinson's and white smoke plumed out of my exhaust yesterday.
I dropped it off in the overnight / Sunday drop box, hope to hear from the dealer soon.

sorry havent logged in, in a while

Bad head gasket, warranty covered everything 100% including my rental for a week.
had to send the egine head out to be inspected for damage, but it was ok...


i also had stage 2 installed, and they said nothing about it....

Isn't white mean a headgasket is shot or the block is clacked so you are evaporating the coolant

#4 piston was F**ked and $4200 and 6 om=nths later she is back to normal.
