New header & down-pipe sale!
[QUOTE=ClearImageAuto Dan;2498320]
1 5/8" primaries for the 2.2L or 2.4L & 1 3/4" for the 2.0L supercharged engine. Also, any nitrous oxide applicationwill benefit from the 1 3/4" primaries.
alright thanks i guess 1 3/4 is for me. aluminized steel, or 304 stainless steel down-pipe would be the same price or whats the diff on it? which one you recommend?

Can anyone tell me what type of materials this header and downpipe are made of? Is it coated with anything (I know the ceramic can be purchased additional)? Will it be painted with a high temp paint? Is it susceptible to rusting like other uncoated exhausts? Thanks!
yea. I would like to know too asap
Please see page 1 for all material data, specs, etc.
We can paint the header but it's pretty much pointless as the paint will almost certainly burn and peel off like and other mild steel header. I know this community tends to go without the ceramic coating but it really is the best way to go. Ceramic will reduce radiated heat by 80%, increase scavenging (good for more power) and reduce oxidation (rust).
Here's some pictures of the ceramic coated 1 3/4" header.

Also note the finish work on the inside of the header. This is why we are the best in the industry.
No one matches our finish work and attention to detail.

I will ask again since the question still has not been answered...
Page #1 does not list the type of material
"Materials & details:
3/8" thick header flange
14 gage (.083) wall steel tubing
machined collector
3" gasketless ball-socket flange
all clamp marks polished
machined flange with full welds on both sides of the flange"
Is this regular mild steel tubing? Or an aluminized steel? The only other mention is having the downpipe built from stainless steel for an additional $70.
Soo for people with this header or any ones similar in nature, will this type of material be susceptible to rusting extremely easily? Also is it available in stainless steel for both the header and downpipe? I am curious because I have a Flowmaster system on my 69' Chevelle SS and it is made of aluminized steel... 5 years later and it is rust free. Conversely I have heard that a regular mild steel header and dp will rust relatively quickly, especially with winter conditions. Thanks for the info...

We can build the headers in 304 stainless steel but we do not have any header flanges in 304 available. To justify ordering a batch we would need a minimum of 20 stainless header orders. Otherwise individual stainless flanges will cost roughly $75.00 each. Even with the header being stainless, the ball/flange collar will still be mild steel. But we would have it ceramic coated to go with the stainless header.
The Ion Redline is longer so an adjustment will be made. We have an Ion standing by for exhaust install/R&D, possibly later this week.
Thanks.
You guys are awesome, I haven't laughed so hard in a long time! Now don't cancel your order X or then we are down one and the other GP guys are gonna hate lol. But if it means that much to you...at least wait till there are 16 then you could cancel lol :P
