New header & down-pipe sale!
Quick question concerning the slip fit connections? I have small wire fed (I think MIG) welder. Will this work to tack the slip fit onto the downpipe? Or is this not the right type of welder to use with this type or metal?
Also anyone look into taking their combo somewhere for ceramic coating? Anyone know a ballpark amount or a place near Pittsburgh, PA that does it?

The stainless down-pipe is identical to the aluminized down-pipe. The tubing is just much more expensive but it will not rust, ever. The adpater piece I am talking about above is a major ordeal to make out of 304 stainless steel. Aluminized steel or mild steel, even 409 stainless steel is much easier to work with because it's softer. We are able to stretch it, form it, reduce it, etc with simpler tools on a much simpler machine. With 304 stainless steel contatining much more alloy, it is harder, work hardens quicker, is more prone to splitting, cracking, etc. We need to use special forming tools and a special press to make the same part. Even bending, cutting and welding 304 stainless is different. It takes more set-up to bend, different saws to cut, different welding technique; thus is is more expensive to purchase and to work with.

Same as above. We will ship when we can physically put parts in a box.
Guys, I'm not trying to sound like a smart a$$. But please take the time to at least read what I have spend time writing in this thread. I have to blame myself for even opening the website. I'm sorry you all feel like we are taking too long. I was at the hospital with my wife all day. (She's recovering from a minor surgery and doing fine). So I didn't even get here until almost 5 PM.
Also, the question about if we will do another group purchase was asked. Right now my answer is NO.

A MIG welder is perfect. You literally just need to make contact between the two pieces. Enough strength to keep it from moving. When you are ready to go to 3", just grind through the welds and pull the slip connection off.

Yes, I can tell you exactly when the rest will be shipped out. As soon as the down-pipes are complete, the headers are complete and/or back from the ceramic coaters, and we can wrap, pack and label the box.

I dont blame you man these guys think your i robot , i think you should give them the jbp treatment and dont respond in the thread until your finish with the orders.
excuse me? its the first time I ask and only asked because my dad wanted to know since its his car now and his parts. so chill. just because u got urs or have info about urs already doesent mean I or noone else cant ask for a lil info about theirs.
i have a combo already i could care less pay me 30 dollars and ill ship mine to you when it gets here.
Guys, I think you'll be happy when you finally get your packages. Give the man a break he is trying extremely hard to please everyone, which isn't possible... We want to encourage Dan and Clear Image to work with us on here to offer us good deals with future GP's not make him want to rip his hair out and never do it again...
I will attest to the quality and worksmanship of the header and downpipe. I received mine today and was impressed with it. The header is very "solid" and "sturdy" feeling. The flanges are welded extremely nicely. It only makes me wish I would have shelled out the money for ceramic coating. The downpipe is equally well made. The cat converter in this is a very nice unit. I am extremely excited to install this combo Sat night. I am looking forward to feeling a difference with my current mods. I will report back my opinions after install...

Come on guys, tone it down please. Everyone is excited to get their products and I was trying to rib you all a little bit. You can ask all you want for up-dates and I'll continue to respond, however, the response time may be much slower because we do want to be done with this GP... Almost there.

I knew going into it I'd be waiting a little while and when you as a business are also waiting on other services (like ceramic coating or shipping issues) its out of your hands. I'm a computer tech so I know how the service side of it can be sometimes as well as customer relations. I hope you don't let a few bad apples ruin it for the community & your business but I can see why if you do and can't really blame you. Don't sacrifice quality for anything though.
Not to be entirely mean or anything... I just wanted to show you people that this is real...
Teh Sex..!

In case you people still didn't know what the Velocity Cone was, here it is. It is a pointy thing that comes out of each primary and feathers them into a point. Here is straight on...

Will be installing it tomorrow night. Can't wait!
Also do you people on here think a catback exhaust will be essential now for more performance? How much gain do you think I will get with a 3" system over the stock catback with this header/dp. My mods are in the sig. This is my thread for that quesiton. Please contribute!

hey guys whats you alls opinions on the mild steel header and downpipe? thats what i ordered cause with my schedule i couldnt wait for the stainless, and honestly didnt want to pay the big price difference. I have been told that i should wrap the header and downpipe with header heat wrap. what yall think?
The pics 2 posts above of my stuff are the mild steel versions. I also did not want shell out the extra money or wait longer to get the stuff. I asked Dan about wrapping the header and he said that it would cause it to overheat and crack. Also water would get inside the wrapping and cause it to rust and fall apart. He claims that wrapping the header will also fully void the warranty. This was discussed within the beginning of this thread, I actually asked that question... Discuss....

Let me be perfectly clear here.
Every header is shipped with a "life time warranty". If you decide to wrap your header, just go ahead and toss that life time warranty out. Don't even bother filling it out and sending it in. Because the warranty will be void. There is no denying when heat wrap has been used. It will destroy the metal. In a wet climate, you might be lucky enough to get a couple years out of the header with wrap. Did I mention you shouldn't use heat wrap? Oh yeah, and heat wrap absolutely, positively WILL VOID the warranty. Any questions?
UP-DATE:
All 4 into 1 headers will be ready to ship Monday. I got all the ports shaped tonight.
One TRI-Y header is complete and pwnding test fitting on a car. The other two will be built as soon as we check the O2 bung.
All ceramic coated headers are done and I pisked them up today.
We will ship as many header/DP combo's as possible Monday and Todd will finish up on the down-pipes shortly. If all goes well, every single header/DP order will be shipped by the end of next week.
One last thing, the first 304 stainless steel header is complete. I am working on prices now and will post the sale shortly.
Thanks again to all of you for your orders.
