I am told that caster is improved by cutting away part of the scuttle and ovalizing the strut tower hole and shoving that top mount waaaay back....so i have read on the internet....

Unbolt the 3 bolt from your strut mount, jack up car, go GGRRRRRRRRR with a dremel and make the holes nice long oval that extend toward back of car, renistall.

I wasnt sure my self, but that is the first thing that came to mind LOL. Right way to do it or not, it would get you more - (negative) caster (by going back)...

Here the easy way to remember it, caster is the measurement of the steering axis' inclination on a longitudinal plane as viewed from perpendicular to the vehicle centerline, if the caster is negative, then the steering axis will intersect the ground plane at a point behind where the vehicles hub centerline intersects the ground plane. okay so thats not the easy way.

Positive=good good caster=leaning back.

because your car is a ricer and the struts are in the middle of the engine bay unsupported, you could grind away reposition, use the stock top mount of course, and then are you ready FIT A STRUT TOWER BAR triangulated to the firewall and you would be kewl and it would do some good and cover up the dremel marks... and as for Maven ****n you I failed math so =good= fall over backwards i understand...thanks oh and one more thing the ricers are bailing out of F1, Honda by Friday, can Toyota be far behind? Good deals on 2.5 million dollar motors

my struts are all the way at the back...on the firewall...they are actually under the windshield wiper cowl which is why you arent getting pictures tonight because it was too cold....

but a triangulated strut bar does sound good...atleast it would look more functional than the **** bars out for my car....

I dont know what happened to my thread. It kind of got off topic just a bit. The mounts that you showed are camber adjustable. I was not going for this. I was going for a very simple design that would eliminate the rubber stock bushings. I am pretty sure I expressed exactly what you were looking for, not sure why the comments kept coming.

Would you be more interested if I just got rid of the poly bushings and inserted the spherical bearings? If thats all that you would rather prefer thats very easy to do, just makes them more expensive.

What benifit would your design over stock(OEM)? Assuming you are keeping caster and camber at the same location as stock...

This is where we are confused?

First longevity. It would last about 5x longer than the stock rubber bushings. I have noticed that when people lower there car on the older sunfires and cavaliers, the rubber just cant hadle it. So thats one thing. The other thing, being that they are 90% solid. Its along the same principals of why change your factory motor mount thats rubber to a poly design, it will elimate "play" in the suspension.

Here is what we came up with. These are camber adjustable. They are PROTO-TYPE, we just laser cut these so you can get an idea of what we are going to do to fix this problem. If we do develope these there will be an option to order non camber, and just have a spherical bearing at the top.

There will be a bearing at the top of the plate, just ordered some so they should be here in a day or so. Does this look like a better design?

I know its a proto-type.

All input is greatly appreciated. I want to make sure its perfect especially for the ones that are going to be using them.
