Reduces friction. You can read about it here.

The next thing to look at it are the front lower control arm bushings. There is a trade-off. The best low friction suspension set up transfers a lot of road noise and impact harshness from the road to the suspension and the cabin. If you don’t mind that, then go ahead with this:
Replace the leading inner bushing with a delrin/tool steel shaft bushing assembly, and the rear inner with a spherical joint.

There is a little tid bit out of John's post

Woot. More money down the drain...

These are the last bits of rubber in my suspension. Everything else is already solid/spherical.

Back end sounds ridiculous, but it's like music.

So the trade off is your car will ride like poo on rough roads and be noisy in a bad way?

You probably wouldn't notice these on their own, but i already have solid spherical joints in my control arms and rear beam, so the sound for me is far from what the normal car would be.

You make tradeoffs for performance. You can't have ultimate crisp handling without sacrificing something.

Yeah but this car is a DD. I don't know if I would want to put up with the noise. I think Pedders and a street bar will be more than I'll ever need.

Mine is a DD too

Why woudn't it be.

The noise etc. is far less when compared to say poly trans mounts. Talk about fail...

Yeah the more I look at these and think about it the more I want them haha. Yeah maybe I can create a new noise to overpower the rattling coming from my sunroof lol.
