I actually only put the rears on last weekend and chickened out on the fronts with the cutting involved...maybe this weekend
your question is not answerable. Properly made springs dont beat up shocks, but suspension travel iubeyond design intent - for example a collapsing spring, so the shock bottoms internally- will hurt the shock/strut.
YYZ wont hurt shocks but shocks wear out. stock shocks wear out quicker than Koni for example, but there is a huge price difference.
u get what you pay for.
YYZ wont settle and wont lose rate.

I have a quick question for everyone with these springs. Has anyone had problems with front end shake/wobble feeling with these springs like most lowering springs do for our cars. The only springs ive found that do not do this are Pedders.

I will look for that on my test drive later today. Sounds like something else is outta wack to cause that. Alignment maybe?
If you dont align your car after changing springs, unless trim height is identical, your alignment is off.
Typically, going from stock with correct alignment (to say coil overs with a very low 24 inch to fender lip drop) will change alignment to 1.5 degrees toe out and wear the inside rib of the tire down to the steel cords in a matter of days.
I also hear of noise from the springs. I have installed and tested on my car with a stock LSJ muffler, all versions of YYZ and have yet to hear noise from the springs. I am not saying folks dont get noise, I am saying I cant say its springs. Each car is individual and there maybe other issues causing noise. I did find on two cars at CED that the rear lower isolator had gotten so brittle I had to replace it. Slvvred's car has seen winter, one was cracked'; Matty O's car doesnt see winter iirc one was junk. But neither of these folks have talked of noise from the springs.
quick question on ride height and rubbing. i'm running 235/40 z1 star specs and would like to know if i'd rub either the fender or liner on bumps? running coils now that are too low, hate the banging.
also, would it be possible to order the springs powdercoated in another color?

no rubbing at all. and as for different powdercoat, its always possible to spend more money. I would not however. its your choice. But its not a case of changing the color in the production process. that cant happen. it would be a media blast and re coat and I dont think thats a good idea. I do have the first set of v.1 which were never powdercoated, which are now a nice bright dormant blue. But thats as good as it gets.
its not the springs. I have never heard that "most lowering springs....(give) problems with front end shake/wobble". If YYZ were an extreme drop I would consider it a possibility, but they are not. Look to alignment or installation issues.

i dont think this problem is spring related, although i dont think the springs help. I have this issue and it comes and goes, and still havent figured it out yet. I can say the yyz v3 springs helped minimize it over the sportlines, but its still there. Have done alignment and replaced the sway bar end links, and it still comes and goes. Not a warped rotor, already checked, and my car barely has 30,000 miles on her. Been doing it about 5,000 miles, and thats not good for such a low milage car. There is a thread about it somewhere, and many have experienced it, without figuring it out. Wish gm had some answers instead of spending tons of money just throwing parts at it.
Did you check you axels to make sure they didn't pop out just a touch. My buddy had that problem when he put sport lines on His balt. The dealer just popped them back all the way in and the wobble stopped.
check your axles, leading and rear control arm bushings etc etc. if gm is working on the car they shouldnt be charging you for throwing parts at it... initial cost is one thing but not for everything else they keep throwing at it because the problem should be diagnosed before its fixed. its called a diagnosis for a reason.
Exactly. I would guess trailing cabs but Matty is right. I checked your garage and it does not say what mounts you have etc.

the leading control arms are an issue from time to time. i recently had one on a customers car sieze in the control arm..... needless to say i caused me to have to destroy the bushing to get the subframe out and the bolt out. luckily the bolts salvagable but its getting a new one
only suspension work i have done is added a rear sway bar ( didnt make any difference) and put yyzv3 springs on to replace the sportlines, which replaced the originals. I have only changed out the sway bar end links but thats it. Didnt notice it till after about 1,000 mi on the sportlines, and it has come and gone ever since. Big thing i noticed when dropping it with the sportlines was how much harder the steering became. Wasnt annoying, but felt more bound up, i am guessing due to the lowered heigth. The yyz's seem to free it up more, and it feels more neutral. If it makes any difference i also have zzp rotated trans mounts, but i had the wheel thing before and after so i doubt they did anything.

thanks john, on a side note it only does it going straight, dont feel any wobble while turning. Sorry to thread jack. What parts do you recommend if i find bad bushings?
I did get some clanging in the rear springs on the v3's, got some thin walled tubing, cut it down the middle and secured it overnight with some waterproof adhesive on the middle part of the springs ( every other) and noise is gone. Thanks for better ride quality, haven't really taken higher speed corners yet but im sure they are up for the task.
Winter project will be your subframe connectors. Bet the shipping wont be cheap on those, but that wont stop me. Thanks again.

Wish mine made noise to. I push this car hard every day and they don't make a peep.
Zzp rotated mount ddon't rotate anything. I've installed probably 10 sets that customers supplied us with rather then getting Powell's like I always recommend. I install them without having to loosen the upper mount or move the engine in any way. There fore no rotation

Well another great day at Road America, best time was 2:51.002, the car had at least another 5 seconds in it I'm sure, but iat2 started creeping up on 175 in the heat of the day. Still quick enough to be the fastest street tire time out of the hpde group. They even opened up the last session for open passing since only 5 of us were still going out on track, great fun passing a 08
Z06 around the outside of the carousel, he got me on the crossover coming out of the kink and we played like that for about 4 laps. He'd pull me on the straights and I'd catch him under braking and after turn 5 it was crossover after crossover. The corner speed on yyz v1/konis is just this side of scarey.
