Super Chips Tuner FAIL.
They claim that out car can tell the diff with that even and make adjustments. so in theory the only thing that you really need is a ECU unlock to get rid of the learn down bullshit that will make bolt-ons pointless. Which I can say for myself has REALLY worked. I still need to get my lazyass to the dyno but I know the gains are pretty good.
I dunno if you get what im laying down i kinda rambled but I think I make sense haha
i mean i know how everyone likes to think that each one of our cobalts has super special DNA that makes them different from one another but the fact is a damn robot puts most of our car together. IMO the only thing that will make a bit of diff is Location?

unlocking the learn down down feature makes bolt ons count but it doesn't really tune the car.. unlocking the learn down wont make it so it'll compensate for a turbo upgrade .. i'm not saying your setup doesn't work but just again people are calling trifecta canned tunes .. and it's far from correct.. thats all mang different strokes for different folks ..

I had 3 LNF cars at the Dyno, just a few months ago. Loaded the same tune into each car.
Car A: 301 and 324
Car B: 302 and 315
Car C: 307 and 339
And the only difference between these cars was mods... and Car C was BONE STOCK with just the tune!
did each and everyone of them have the same items inside the car? What about same driver? How about was it done at the xact same time when the humidity and temp was the same? Just saying that doesnt prove much?
Once again I get what your saying
Once again I get what your saying
Yeah, same driver, same day within ~20 minutes of each other...
Car A: Had muffler delete 3" piping, K&N drop in
Car B: Had Short Ram intake, Charge Pipes, and BOV
Car C: My car had nothing but a tune

Sorry to dig this thread up, but as I contemplate moving from SRT-4 to SS, I'm doing my due diligence. I thought I had it all figured out until p 3 of this thread. With the Neon, I had two choices: custom parts + custom tune or PnP with very expensive Mopar stage kits. Because Mopar charged so much for lower power, I went big turbo. Then I spent a lot of $ on finding and fixing a few compatibility issues and had to get back on the dyno for multiple tunes. The cost between the two wound up a lot closer than I expected plus the headache of all those issues and sometimes I wondered why I strayed from the Dodge kits. I always remembered "you'll always want more power, go one turbo bigger than you think you want, build the system for future upgradability." Now I'm on 400whp (close enough to it) and haven't added anything to the car since big turbo 2+ years ago. I got burned out on always running to tune/re-turn and I dunno that I want to start over with SS; then again, if SC fails to produce updates at a reasonable schedule - this isn't an F-body, after all - then I'm stuck with the low limits and possibility of not including basic bolt-ons.
And I see a key poster in this thread loved his SC, then his sig block was updated to "getting rid of SC for custom tune" and stopped posting on this topic.
I just need to keep my Neon til you guys get this figured out, don't I???

If your NEON isn't fucked then I wouldn't get rid of it...Especially if your pushing 400 whp??
If you just flat out need a great bang for buck car I say go for it.
