hey what school do u got to? i went to UTI in exton and there was a kid with a ghetto'ed up mach 1. I'll race him from a roll... just tell him i only have intake and exhaust, i've been wanting to race a mach 1 after my stage 2. as long as one of the races is from a roll i'll be happy, i think w/ a stage 2 plus intake and exhaust its all in the driver from a dig and its all for the cobalt from a roll hah

i go to conrad weiser its his moms but she lets him drive it all the time. he cant drive stick very well either maybe u could come down here some time and show this kid what cobalts are all about

Let me school ya!!! 04 blk mach 5spd ....cat back ..mid pipe ..short throw shifter.. and 4.10 Gears w/drag radials.17inch car went 12.55et @109mph street tires 12.87 @ 108mph and complete stock when i first bought it ..13.07 @105.9 -13.16 @106.1 bfg drags...your out of your league w/this car....4cam 32v 7000rpm revver!!! There are some that are faster too w/better drivers than me.....dont under estimate these cars!!!!!they do run...and in fact ..from a dead stop is where they shine.....1.57 -1.75 is the avg 60 ft on these cars set up this way!!!! Mach 1's are in a whole different league than Cobalt SS S/C's. They are on par with LS1 F-Bodies, way ahead of the normal 99-04 GT Mustangs in terms of power and mod potential.

Race him for fun, but don't count on it being close at all

 

Who are you schooling? We all realize that the mustang would obviously win. **** it's an 8 cylinder mustang it shouldn't even be close considering they'd be racing something w/ half as many cyliners and 100 less hp.

I ran a mach 1 with my Z06 a while back - they are better than the average GT mustang by a good margin - I am guessing they are about the same as a good ws6 trans am judging by the rate I pulled away from it.

I am sure a mach 1 would whoop on my cobalt.

Apples to oranges here. These kinds of conversations really shouldn't even come up. Mach 1, V8 Engine, Massive HP, Massive Torque. It doesn't really matter if the guy is a bad driver or not, he'll still win unless he kills the car during the run.

Might have a decent chance with the V6, but not the Mach 1, The Boss, or even a GT.

 

well if its stock and he cant even really drive good... i'm totally up for the challange! he just better be a horrible driver b/c a proffesional driver could be in the low 13s but i've seen them run a 13.99 at the track... idk now i'm a little more nervous.. but all in good fun, i just wish ppl never talked down to ppl unless they initiated it. w/e!

 

its tough to say can he handle the powe of the stang if not u can walk awya with it... most ppl cant hanlde power very well..

 

sooo what your saying is the mach 1 is as fast as a stock 03 cobra? i dont think so id say a stock mach 1 would go low 14's bone stock. youd still get your butt whooped but it wouldnt be that bad. go pick on some 5.0 GT's there easy pray

 

You have to race him. What do you got to lose. If you do, you lost to a car with twice the motor and it wasnt even that **** car. Right now I am in the process of getting rid of my sohc 4.6 ford due to a lack of aftermarket parts and potential. The dohc 4.6 is bad ass but i bet that kid cant drive for ****.

 

RWD, V8! You will be eating his tire smoke. Get stage II and maybe you'll have a chance.

 

it not just a factor of being the dohc 4.6 it is a factor of if its a 2, 3, or 4 valve. the 4 valve is the only thing in a 4.6 thats worth a damn.

 

guys..... encourage him to race.

if its stock vs stock, u will lose

if he is modded and you are stock, you will obviously lose

.... if you are modded and he is stock, u have a very good chance

.... if you are both modded, could go either way

............................... does it matter if u lose? like ppl have said.... u are expected to lose in a 4cyl cobalt. if you take into consideration that he may be having a bad day, he is a bad driver, or even his air filter gets clogged by a dodo bird running across the road, u have a chance.

worst that could happen is u "get schooled", buy some upgrades, and blow his doors off.

The Mach1 Mustang is one of the most BS'ed about Mustangs made to date.

Anyone who drives one will tell you it's a drivers race for a LS1 and well, it isn't. They are quicker than a 99-04 GT and are capable of 13's stock but like the GT's they aren't high speed machines.

The claims of people running 12's stock are all over and somehow 4.10 geras and slicks get left out of the modification list.

There are 3 Mach1's here in town and I have raced them all, I killed all three in my 2000 & 2002 Camaro SS. As for vs my SS/SC with Stage 2 from a roll they all die easily from a dig it's a drivers race but the longer we go the further I pull.

Two are stock and one has a K&N FIPK Kit, and O/R H-Pipe.

 

Hahaha I dynoed with my buddies Mach on a Mustang dyno, he dynoed 290 against my cobalt that did 222. So, um, goodluck and godspeed. They must dyno around 315 stock on a dynojet.

 

Stock Mach1's do not dyno over 300HP on a dynojet.

My buddies 2001 heavily modded GT put down 297HP and 301FtLbs and he cleans the floor with Mach1's and I can easily keep up with him.

Vs a Staged SS/SC the only place the Mach1 has a chance is from a dig. From a roll the Mach1 will look funny.

 

you have a cobalt SS, you can beat everything!!!! just kidding... i raced one and i stayed dead even with him though... ok ok just kidding again! actually when i raced one he kicked my ass. not sure if he was stock, but he steadily put 5 cars between us from 70-120

 

i beat one...but im a cobalt god.....yes it was stock and no im not stock...stage 2 with intake catless magna flow / drive modd stage 2....took him off the launch....and fought him off to 110 and he started to walk....the only reason why i jumped out is because he launched like a dog and just spun...but it is do able

 

Can't say I agree with that. A Mach 1 should beat an SS S/C no problem from either a dog or a roll, its a much more powerful car. I don't think it would even be close.
