[QUOTE=Terminator2;6780226] I hate all the V6 guys saying that the extra 5K for the 5.0 is not worth it. It costs a lot a money just to make up the 125 whp difference between them stock.

Well maybe in the US it's only 5
k more, but up here in
canada the price jumps 9 grand from the V6 to the V8

Well yes but you are the only Canadian I know of all the others are US guys. Your mods cost more though in Canadian dollars though so it is all relative. A full exhaust that costs $2000 here costs you $2800 or so, an intake that costs $300 here costs you ~$400 and so on.
If you are not trying to make your V6 hang with or beat a stock 5.0 just looking to dust 90% of the cars you encounter on a daily basis than you made a wise choice.

I would of loved to of gotten the 5.0 but the price difference was too much and the extra big jump for the insurance also. I got it for the looks mostly.

My 12 has

M6 with 3.31 gears
Boss manifold, 85mm tb, steeda boss air intake
lt's, orx, jpc over axle pipes, and gt500 mufflers
Evolution/Lund tune
aluminum driveshaft

best et on regular radials was 12.20 at 120.5. went 11.79 at 120.0 while bogging on 295/55 MT drag radials. The car picked up ALOT of power on the dyno about 6500rpm with the boss manifold setup and picked up close to 3mph at the track. I need to switch to 3.73s if i plan to keep on running the 295/55 drag radial.

The e85 cars run gt500 injectors (47lb?) and some of the harder running n/a cars even run a boost-a-pump

you don't buy a mustang to not get a V8 Oh and I would agree with you if I had a LS cobalt, but how many chicks(even on this site) drive a SS/SC? I think I know of 3 or so? Again just on this site, I don't know any in person. Than ask yourself the same question but put v6 mustang in there. I know of 30 at least Now what? Granted the 2011+ V6 is the only V6 mustang I would even ever consider owning but still.

EDIT: Also I love how you call the cobalt a chick car when you used to own one. I bet yours was an LS?

well if your MPH was 120 then you should be at least low 11's. So school me son? What was your 60ft?

2.00 with the 12.20 street tire run. 1.77 with a bog on the 11.79 run. the 3.31 gears with a 28" borrowed drag radial was too much for the lack of gearing. I ran the car 3 times with all passes in the 11s. dumping the car from 5k still resulted in a bog. Stick car with drag radials break parts so I stopped at 3 passes. how many full weight , stock gear, stock clutch, stock rear, and stock trans cars run john force times? yeah the car makes power but its far from a drag car.

A 120 trap speed equals mid to low 11s in a drag car that gets a 1.
5 60ft time. Not any modern day bolt on street car.

what kind of experience do you have with drag racing or do you just bench race. what mods and what have you run in the cobalt? its easy to talk **** from the sideline

I have never ran the cobalt as I just got it last year. But it has a custom full 3in exhaust, dual heat exchangers, Factory Stage 2, Injen CAI, and a trifecta tune. I'm in the process of doing a option B and a dual pass then I'm going to get retuned. But I used to own an 04 cobra, a fully built 96 cobra, and a supercharged 96 GT. Sounds like you need 3.73's to be honest. I had 4.30's in my built 96 cobra and that was a little much to tell you the truth. I ran a 12.8 @ 110mph in my 04 cobra with a 2.0 60ft. I could have done better as once I went back and got a banging 1.9 60ft but missed ******* 3rd gear lol. That time I ran a 13.0 @ 75 mph lol. I don't have the vid anymore as that was years ago, but here is a pic of my cobra same color as my cobalt lol.

Also just to show it was stock. Only thing I did to it when I had it was magnaflow x-pipe, k@n drop in filter, and nitto drag radials. So my drag racing experience is basically just from my RWD mustangs so I kind of know what I'm talking about with them.

Here is the built 96 cobra

and the superchaged 96 GT. It was a factor supercharged added back when it was stock by magnason(I guess they actually used to do that back in the day. They put it in the engine kind of like the old SC thunderbirds. You can make out the SC snout if you know what your looking for.

And you can tell all these pics are mine because they all are taken in front of my house(small white and black one). Besides the 96 cobra because I moved for a short while.

So I'm not some retard that doesn't know what he's talking about.

Oh and here is me racing a 99 procharged cobra in my 04. He had a O/R H pipe, cat back exhaust, and 4.10s. He made 456rwhp on the dyno. Mine at the time was with the mods I stated above, magnaflow x-pipe, drop in k@n filter and nitto drag radials.

not trying to still talk **** but I provided numbers on my car that's clearly faster than all cars you posted and you are knocking my times. Only a 12.8 out of a 110 trap? 110 trap cars run 12.2-12.0s. See what I'm getting at?

I was just saying that with that MPH you should be in the 11's at least mid. Wasn't knocking it at all. Oh and I was on street tires so I never said my times were as good as they could have been. Just showing you i'm not just some talking idiot that doesn't know what he's talking about.

acording to your math your 03 should have been a 12.0 car. do you see what I'm getting at? full weight street cars don't match the et that their MPH shows. if I lack a "driver mod" with an 11.7 at 120 you also suffer from the same lack of driver mod because you didn't run 12.0 at 110 which a drag car would

fair enough. Oh and I had an 04 Notice the chromes the 03's came with the aluminum. I would have ran a 12.5 or so if I didn't miss 3rd on that one run with I got the 1.9 60ft. I just looked up a bunch of 5.0's in the 11's and they all got a 1.8 60ft or better. 114mph-117 or so. I guess I see where your coming from. warm those mickeys a little better next time Or did you say ET streets? Either way I miss RWD
