same overall height as factory contis...
Think I can get them over a factory TC rim? What kind of spacer do you think I'd need, my 245s are at the hair's breadth of rubbing now.

There is somebody on this forum that has 255/35-18 on factory rims, but i don't remember who. If you search the thread, you will find it, he also got pix of them. For sure at least an 18x8 rim is more appropriate for that kind of size.
As someone stated above, for that measure a 18x8.5 rim is much better anyway. Once you install them, let us know if you're rubbing

It's not just rubbing you're gonna have to worry about, you're gonna have so much tire bulge that the tire is not gonna sit completely flat on the ground. You're gonna hurt grip more than help it with tires that wide on such a narrow wheel.

bfg kdw2, I've run both 235 and 245 on factory rims, 245 had just a bit of abnormal wear on the inside shoulder but my camber adjustments would point out to you that's probably normal. you certainly couldnt run a dunlop or pretty much ANY all season at 255 i think.
I was just curious if anyone has done it yet, I think I won't rub, 245 doesn't rub on mine. Worst case I'll move up to an 8 inch rim width. Are we sure it isn't 8 inch factory? I never bothered to check but they do seem wide.

Time to step up to a big boy wheel, Army. https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/auto...rrived-242175/

How is the difference in grip as far as traction with those 245 KDWs compared to the stock tires? How much is a set of those?

night and day for real. I was still at stock power when i made the move to wider tires, but the grip was phenomenal from 225 contis to 235 kdw, and i cut another 1.5 seconds to 245 size
id totally agree if I was autocrossing, but my home track is a power hungry track that begs for long duration traction.
